Luke's POV

After Michael dropped me off at home, I couldn't get Jesus in Suburbia out of my head. I walked up the stairs and before I knocked on the door, I realized I spent the whole time with the three guys and didn't get the groceries. My hand automatically slapped my forehead and I stomped away. Before I reached the street, the door opened to reveal a very angry Liz Hemmings. I flinched as she made her way towards me.

"Luke Robert Hemmings, where have you been?! You've been gone for more than two hours! And I don't see any bags from the market and all those supplies surely couldn't gave fit in your pocket!" She fumed. I cringed and sighed.

"Sorry, mum," I replied glumly. "I really like your hair though."

"Save it, mister," she snapped. "Where are the groceries and why are you late?"

"I was at the market and met three guys and they were cool. They liked me and we became friends and talked for a while and one of them, Michael, took me home and then I realized I didn't have the supplies and food. I was just about to go and get them though," I promised.

"Who were the other two boys?"

"Uh, I think Ashton and C-Calum? Yeah, that's who."

"Oh, my goodness, Luke! You can never go near them! They aren't cool, they're dangerous!" Mum's expression had turned into a more worried one.

"Dangerous?! They aren't...uh..." I tried defending, but then I recalled all the encounters with the different tattoos and piercings. "Wait, I have piercings and tattoos and I wouldn't hurt a fly!"

Just then, a fly buzzed around me and I swatted it. It drifted slowly to the ground and died. I chuckled nervously and scratched the back of my neck. Mum crossed her arms over her chest, held a stern look, and tapped her right foot impatiently. Her expression didn't falter once the fly landed. Rule Number One, never anger Mrs. Hemmings.

"Just get in the car and I'll drive you to the store," she finally spoke. I grinned. "But, you'll have to use your own money."

My grin faltered and I couldn't hide my disappointment.

"I was saving that for a new tv..." I muttered.

"Well, it's either you use your money for the groceries or you're grounded for two months! Since you dropped out of school, you can just stay at home and clean. Your choice." With that, she walked away.
