Skylar's POV

Calum was there for me for the entire night. He listened to the rambling of a sad, heartbroken girl and he let me sob all I wanted. When I thought that I was done crying, the tears would come back again and I couldn't control them. I then started slowly drifting off, the crying had been taking up all my energy. I let my head fall onto Calum's lap and I fell asleep with him brushing his fingers through my hair.

Michael's POV

I woke up the next morning and I stretched, my back popping a bunch. As I moved my neck around to pop it as well, the memories from the party last night crashed down on me. I kissed the boy from last night. Or did he kiss me? I didn't remember but what I did remember was that I had a girlfriend who I just cheated on. I immediately felt like I'd broken a law. I groaned and I quickly got out of my bed. I whipped out my phone and saw I had a text from Calum.

'You screwed up, Clifford. Big time. If this is the type of person you're gonna be, I don't want to stick around in the band. Either change your personality and fix things with your girlfriend or I'm leaving the band'

I stared in disbelief. I had to blink a million times and reread it five times. How did Calum know? Why did he care? I huffed and shook my head before getting dressed and heading to Skylar's house.

Calum's POV <ooh>

I was making breakfast for Skylar when she walked in the room, rubbing her eyes and then massaging her temples.

"I have a migraine and a hangover. I feel like my head will burst open and Athena with pop out or something," she shared before sitting on the counter beside me.

I was waiting for the waffles to get done so I was just leaning against the counter at the moment.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Skye. I'm making waffles to make you feel better and there's some water you can drink at the moment," I told her.

She giggled slightly.

"Thanks, mum."

I laughed and immediately felt embarrassed because I'm annoyed with my laughter.

"Your laugh is cute," she said bluntly.

I felt a blush creep onto my cheeks and I was about to thank her when there was a knock on the door. I used that as an excuse to hide my shame. I quickly speed walked to the door and answered it. There stood Michael Clifford. My mood went from blushy and happy to anger, loathing, and disgust all in a matter of three seconds. I gave him the nastiest glare.

"Why are you here?" I snapped.

"I came to talk to Skylar. I want to apologize," he said softly.

I rolled my eyes. I know it's a boyish thing, but I didn't want him to apologize because I wanted Skylar to myself. I've had a crush on her for the longest time and I just wanted her as my own. But I remembered what I had texted him about leaving the band. Was that the only reason though? Or did he still have feelings for her? I didn't know which was worse. I then sighed in defeat and let him pass. He walked right past me and then stopped dead in his tracks.

"Skylar..." I heard him breathe out.

I turned around to see her standing there, staring at Michael as if he were a mirage, her eyes welled up with tears.

"I don't want to see you," she spat out. "You, Michael Clifford, are an awful human being. Drop dead."

With that, she waltzed upstairs leaving a defeated Michael Clifford and a very happy but also sad Calum Hood. The reason I was sad was because of the fact that she was sad. I could share the feelings she had. If she was happy, I was happy. If she was mad, I was mad. If she was sad, I sad. Without thinking, I ran up after her, leaving Michael alone. I prayed he didn't steal anything. I reached Skylar's room and knocked on her door.

"Skylar? You in there? Skye?"

She didn't answer. I tested the doorknob to see if it was unlocked. It was. I turned it and burst into her room to find she wasn't in there, but her window was open and her curtains swayed in the breeze. I muttered a swearword and I ran to the window. I looked around for any sign of her and it seemed like the girl had disappeared in thin air.

"Skylar!" I shouted into the cold, winter air.

The only sound that replied was the echo of my voice, the rustling of the dead leaves on the ground, branches snapping, and the sounds of the neighbors yelling a few profanities at me and telling me people were trying to sleep in. I sighed. It was useless. I had no leads as to where she could've gone. I used all my knowledge and my heart to find where she could've gone. There was nothing. I then decided that I needed help from the two people who knew her best. I ran downstairs to where Michael was and I found him just sitting on the couch looking at his hands. When he saw me walk in, he quickly scrambled to his feet.

"Is she okay? Is she alright? Is she still mad at me? What happened? Where is she?" He fired questions that I didn't even know the answer to.

"I don't even know. She ran away. I need your help. But before we go find her, we also need the help of her cousin. Becca and you are the only people who truly know Skylar the best. So, what do you say? Want to go on an adventure to find her?" I explained.

He had been staring with wide eyes the whole time before he nodded finally.

"Definitely."

"Okay, let's go get Becca and then we're off to find our gone girl."

"Calum, don't ever reference that movie/book, it's a terrible thing," Michael said plainly.

"Aye aye, captain! Wait, I'm the captain. You know what, we'll figure all of this out on the way."
