Credits: Majority of characters appearing in my story belongs to Leigh Bardugo (for which I am so thankful!). I only attribute myself to creating my own characters (such as Katya Nemerov) and making my own story changes. The action of this story takes place after the events of "Ruin and Rising", mostly without referring to the events of the later books by Leigh Bardugo. Though, it may be strongly embedded in the Grishaverse presented in the Netflix TV series called "Shadow and Bones".

This story will describe a protagonist's gradual depravation to the point where she will no longer believe only in the light she once brought as Sankta Alina, but where she will also learn about the gray of human nature – about an alluring charm of power, about lust, about jealousy and about a new face of dark love. It doesn't mean she will become evil as the Darkling just in a blink of an eye. It means she will learn how to find a balance between good and bad. And we all know that the Darkling is bad, very bad... (oh, you are a one hot, toxic guy, aren't you Darkles? ;-)) But Alina is still good. They just need to find a compromise.
It's also a tribute to Darklina ship, which I consider as a very dark and appealing combination. I secretly love that sexy, dangerous aura hovering over the Darkling. Yes – he is a mass murderer, yes – he is a manipulator and yes – he is a sadist (!) I am aware that cheering for his love happiness may seem like a madness and a lack of common sense in an adult person like me 😉 But Aleksander Morozova is also a fascinating character focused on his goals and on liberation of his kind – the liberation of Grisha from the oppression they have been facing for hundreds of years. And this part of his motivation – often forgotten in a comparison to his depravity – for me personally requires some positive support. So here I am 😊
I either think that the Darkling – in his entire literary context as a character – should also be considered as a person tormented by various desires: including sexual desires, because it simply suits him and complements him 😉 Therefore, this story may contain some scenes of sexual intercourse, although they will be thoughtful, moderate, and (I hope so!) tastefully written. Younger readers, however, should be alert that such descriptions may appear (more or less) from about half of the story. Therefore, I am asking my possible young readers not only to be careful, but also to skip this part of the story or even refrain from reading it at all.
I will put some warnings in the beginning of each chapter with such content 😊
I am also a strong supporter of slow burn, which means that my characters will not throw themselves at each other immediately in a fit of their sudden passion. First, their relationship will develop at the level I expect, because in my opinion this is how it works in real life (if you hate someone as much as Alina thinks she hates the Darkling right now) and because of many conflicted emotions tormenting those two. Such emotions need to be stabilized at first. But when their sexual frustration reaches a level when this type of progress in enemies-to-lovers arc is just natural and satisfying for the author (it means for me in this case) – it will happen eventually 😊
Oh, and it will be dark, veeeeeeery dark. Heh.
I will try to update my story usually once a week because of my work and my busy private life 😉 However, I will keep you informed of any delays in the publication date of each new chapter – and I hope there will not be too many of them. I will also never abandon my story. I promise. I have a full vision of a plot kept in my mind, and I want it to be long and full of conflicted emotions for Aleksander and Alina. I also don't like to read short chapters myself, so I will try to put an appropriate amount of content in them.
