"You're keeping secrets, Lorelei," He started, pacing across the room. Her heart clenched both at his tone and words. He never called her by her full name. "You're hiding things from me and canceling dates, and you won't tell me why! It's always this and that but never a real reason."
"I-"
He cut her off swiftly, "No, I need to get this out," He lifted his index finger, "We're in a relationship, and y'know what that means? It means we're supposed to trust each other, but that isn't happening! I know you don't have to tell me everything, but you should at least tell me the important things."
She wrung her hands together, "It's not like that. I- I just can't tell you."
He scoffed, "Of course, you can't."
She had to admit, that hurt.
He brushed past her quickly, heading for the door and leaving without a trace before she was even able to speak a word. She stared at the spot he had previously been standing, burning holes into the ground. She hated herself for doing this, for feeling like this, but she couldn't help it. A tear emerged from the corner of her eye, making her vision blurry. She blinked rapidly, trying to make it leave but all it did was bring even more tears.
She knew he would look at her differently once he knew, and she wanted to keep the perfect image he had of her.
But that was long gone, and she only had herself to blame.
