When she woke up, it took Lorelei a few seconds to remember that she wasn't in that awful place anymore. She had been on bed rest ever since she came back from the hospital which was a week ago. Since then, she had filled her friends in on what went down there and had gotten multiple hugs (yes, even from Zayn).
The last time she heard from Calla was two days ago when she told them that her father was dead and would no longer be bothering them anymore. Lorelei was not afraid to admit that she felt extremely relieved that the villain was gone from their lives, permanently.
She also had not been in contact with her parents because after learning that they had left her there to suffer, she could not stand the thought of trying with them again. She did not want to be associated with them and she did not want to get to know them or understand the situation from their point of view. They had abandoned her when she needed them the most.
End of story.
And Harry. Harry had been so helpful and patient to her throughout her recovery process and she was eternally grateful to him. The way he would give her a smile and the softest of kisses always made her heart soar. The way he would give her that look that conveys just how much he cared about her made her feel like she was flying.
Despite all this, she hated the way he always looked so worried about her. She hated how scared he would look whenever she winced from the soreness and how he refused to stray from her as if he was afraid that the second he looked away, she would disappear. Lorelei wished there was a way she could appease his fears, and make sure that he didn't spend all his time worrying about her.
But there was only so much she could do, especially because of how tired and drained she felt all the time. The nightmares were constant. She would wake up, drenched in a pool of her sweat and panting heavily. Even though she knew that Nate was dead, her brain would not let her stop reliving the trauma over and over again.
Lorelei was sick of it. She felt so pathetic and useless. Her friends were walking on eggshells around her as if they were scared that anything would set her off.
But Lorelei was fine. She really was. She just needed a good night's sleep for once.
The sound of feet shuffling into the room, brought her back to reality. Lorelei looked up to find Harry smiling down at her and holding a cup in his hands. "Hey," He said softly and she smiled at him, greeting him back. "I got you some tea." He handed her the cup and she thanked him, sitting up to take a sip of the warm drink.
"When did you get back? I didn't hear you come in," She asked. Harry had gone to the studio for the first time in about a month. He said that he finally got his inspiration back (and yes, Lorelei did get flustered when he insinuated that she was the cause).
"A few minutes ago," He replied, taking the spot next to her on their bed and making himself comfortable. "You probably didn't hear me 'cause you were too lost in thought," He teased but Lorelei knew him long enough to know that he was also serious. She knew that he was worried about her, hell, everyone was and she didn't like that. She didn't want to be the cause of so much anxiety in the people the loved.
