Eddie's Pov

The day off that I'd been longing for had finally arrived, but I didn't wake to chirping birds and sunshine. Instead the pitter patter of rain can be heard from just beyond my creaking house walls. My eyes open, though the white noise nearly lulls me back to sleep. I can see dark grey clouds rolling through the sky, and low, rumbling thunder can be heard somewhere off in the storm.

With a heavy sigh, I roll over and pull the blankets up more. There was always a draft coming from that window whenever we got storms like this. Luckily, there were no other windows in the house with that issue. Unluckily, the one window that did have issues just so happens to be in our room, so I guess you have to just take the good with the bad sometimes.

"Eddie," Venom chimes, manifesting in front of me just so they can rub their cheek against mine. "Good morning." I suddenly feel that rush of serotonin and dopamine that it takes to get me going again, and the heat in my cheeks brings a smile to my face that I just cant resist.

"Good morning, Vee." Adjusting myself so I'm now laying on my back, I stare up at them, and they seem eager to get on with our day.

"It's our day off," they state, clearly giddy about it. I sigh and look out the window once more, the rain still there, still clinking against the glass.

"It is, but its not very 'day off' weather." I watch as Vee bears witness to the outside, and then turns back to me, scoffing,

"Oh please, a little rain cannot ruin a day that is going to be perfect." I feel my smile reappear, and I nod my head.

"I like the way you think," I agree.

Pulling the blankets off and swinging my legs off the bed, I start to get on with our daily routine. First I go to the bathroom to brush my teeth and comb my hair, then I get dressed and make my bed before going out to the kitchen to get the coffee pot going. As it brews, I throw on a coat to go feed the chickens and make sure they'll be safe and warm in the coop, and when I get back in, we start breakfast.

Sliced spam sizzles in one pan, scrambled eggs in the other, and the aroma was enough to make my mouth start watering. I grab a piece of toast to snack on while I cook to stop me from trying to eat the steaming hot breakfast from right out of the pan, and I can stir the eggs in peace for a moment.

"So, what was the plan for today again?" I ask Venom, who was watching the food just as intently as I was.

"As far as I know, watching movies."

I make a sour face as I start putting the cooked spam on a plate. "That's all?"

"Unless, of course, we think of something else."

I take another bite of my toast, using it as brain food to help aid me in thinking of a better way to spend our time. "It's not that I don't love just sitting around and watching movies, but doing it for the entire day may be a little overboard, don't you think?"

Venom hums in thought. "Maybe we can start out with that and it'll come to us later on."

"Fair enough," I shrug, turning the stove off. I start making our plate and once finished, we go to the living room to begin our hunt for what to watch. We look through movies and shows, reading descriptions, and skimming covers, until finally we settle on something that interested us both.

We had finished our plate barely even five minutes into the first episode, and lasted about an hour before we had officially resorted to the snacks. Episode after episode flies by, and a small hill of chocolate wrappers, empty Pepsi cans, and deflated bags of chips begin to accumulate at the coffee table in front of us.
