I rise up pretty early. Earlier than most apparently, I find myself going through a pretty normal morning routine. Brushing my teeth, eating breakfast (they made us pancakes!!), and finding my way to the weapons locker room. Meeting Ruby and the blonde girl in there. My locker is just a few spaces down from Ruby's.

A very excited girl and a very calm guy go past us. The girl rambling on about something as they walk, "Wonder what those two are so worked up about," Ruby says.

"Oh, who knows! So! You seem awfully chipper this morning," the blonde girl says, crossing her arms and waiting for an answer.

Ruby talks about how she gets to prove herself with her weapon, but honestly, I'm not fully listening. My head sags a bit, and I put my blades on their proper spots on my gear. And gather myself for a while.

The nerves are actually getting to me, quite a bit, actually. I can feel my ears sag, my tail tucked up under me.

I'm ejected from my thoughts when I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn to see Ruby's bright smile. What a relief.

"Hey Ruby! What's up?"

Ruby backs up a step and points at the blonde standing beside her, "Y/n, this is my sister Yang! Yang, this is Y/n. The guy I told you about! The one who helped me after I exploded."

Yang looks me up and down before looking at Ruby with an amused face, "You didn't tell me he was cute! How could you leave that part out!"

Ruby takes a second to realize what Yang said, then quickly hides her face, "Uugghh! Yaaang..."

I fight down the instinct to hide my face as well, "O-Oh. Anyway! Nice to meet you Yang, your sister is one heck of a handful ya know."

Ruby jolts up, putting a finger against my chest, "Hey! What's that supposed to mean!"

I put my arms up defensively, and Yang jumps in with a grin plastered on her face, "Well, you did LITERALLY blow up, and he's the one who helped. If anyone can say that, it'd be him!"

Ruby groans and backs up again, "Yeah Yeah, whatever. I was only wondering if you'd like to be on a team! If you want to, obviously,"

A bit of an embarassed look overtakes Ruby's face. She wants to be on a team with me? "Wait, why don't you and your sister be on a team? You'd have great chemistry."

Yang awkwardly laughs, and Ruby huffs, "Yang said it would be better if I 'broke out of my shell' instead."

I look between them both for a second before resting my gaze back on Ruby, "That's ridiculous."

Ruby jumps and throws her hands up in a frustrated manner, "That's what I said!!"

"Well, it only makes sense. She'll have to meet new people eventually anyway," Yang retorts, still smiling a bit nervously.

I hear Jaune Weiss and someone talking loudly. I shake out the noise and nod, "Yes, but if she can avoid it, why wouldn't she?"

Yang sticks a finger up to once again argue back, but quickly puts it back down when she realizes I'm right. Before any of us can continue the discussion, the intercom sounds off, calling us first years to Beacon Cliff for the initiation.

The three of us approach Jaune, who was pinned to a locker by a spear, Ruby helping him up, "Having some trouble there, LadyKiller?" Yang says with obvious sarcasm.

Jaune huffs a sigh, and I give a quick wave to the three, "I'll see you guys there!"

Yang gives me a thumbs up, and I head out the door. I'm feeling a bit weak in the knees.
