RWBY: Unbound Instinct (Ruby Rose x Male Reader)

Ch. 16 - Titan

As I'm in the elevator on the way down, Weiss hops in on her way down, too.

"Get what you needed?" I ask as the door closes.

She snickers at my question, "Perfect for the project! And I see you're allowed off campus now."

I feel a bit of pride, maybe more so excitement, radiate off of her as she says this. Her tone triumphant. I grin widely and nod, "Sure am! Plus some extra stuff, but we can talk about that later."

As the elevator opens our scrolls go off simultaneously. We both look down as the doors open, as Blake's voice comes through, "Everyone! If you can hear me we need backu-"

"HELLLLP!" Sun's scream cuts her off. I look to Weiss and she rolls her eyes, and we dart off to the airships as fast as we can.

We come down to see the city buzzing with screens showing the chase. They approach the massive highway system just outside of the downtown area and we both rocket off.

After a long run, we perch up on the road above where the Mech is running, "Damnit! We picked the wrong road!" I shout at her over the roar of traffic just behind us.

Weiss looks at me with a straight face, "No, you did." With one smooth motion, Weiss flips over the road, the opposite barrier, and lands in the middle land of the road the mech is on. Staring it down as it approaches faster than the cars on the road. With a twirl, she plants her blade into the asphalt, and creates a gigantic layer of ice on the ground, and before Torchwick can adjust in time, he slips and tumbles over the barrier, falling to the ground beneath the large web of winding roads.

"Holy fuck." I breathlessly say.

I descend and end up landing next to Ruby, who stares down the Mech with a wired up determination. The rest of RWBY landing next to us in unison.

The Mech clicks a few times, then proceeds to approach us. Ruby then turns to Weiss and Yang, "Freezerburn!" And springs backward, along with Blake and I. Weiss makes her icy layer again as Yang flies up into the air, coming back down with a massive punch and a shotgun shell ringing out from her gauntlet. The attack makes a massive fog screen for us to work in. And coordinate a sneak attack. Ruby looks to the three of us and we spring into action, circling the giant Mech in the fog like sharks in water.

As I circle behind it, it seems to notice someone in front of it, and fires off into the fog. I pounce on the opportunity and fly forward, unsheathing Finality and slashing twice, making a gash into its back while enhancing my arms. I skid past it and Ruby does the same from the front, she fires a shot and slides backwards next to me, "Icy Howl!" She orders next.

I sprint forward as Weiss rushes next to us, as we attack the mech together. Slashing its legs to force it to move backward. Then, with one hard upwards heave, I knock an arm upward and free an opportunity for Weiss, she takes full advantage and springs upwards, using a glyph to stand on as she stabs her rapier into one of the scanners. This seems to cause a short circuit, as all the scanners turn off and Weiss hops away. Leaving me under the mech.

I look up as it lifts its foot above me and start to enhance my body as much as I can, bracing myself for a hard impact. As soon as it starts to come down, a glyph appears below me and rips me out of harms way, I come to a stop next to Weiss as I hear missles fire away from the mech. Weiss drops another glyph below us, and I manage to jump back away from the barrage thanks to my semblance. Without any warning, Weiss gets shot out of the air next to me, flipping backward with a loud thud. She flips through the air and seems to send out a glyph I hadn't seen before below me. Seemingly golden, and with a clockwork interior instead of a snowflake. As it works below me I quickly realize what it is. It's making me move faster!
