I pull myself from my sleeping bag and stretch. Looking around to the other beds, I can tell nobody has gotten up yet, besides Blake, who is sitting up reading in her bed. I pull myself up and stretch again, a yawn forcing its way from my chest. Blake gives me a glance, but that's all. I give a tired wave and grab my uniform, exiting the room with my feet dragging beneath me.

I pass a few more early risers in the halls, earning more than a few whispers of judgment. Not only because I'm a faunus, but because I'm a L/n. As much as I would've liked to keep that hidden, yesterday's ceremony made that impossible. Oh, well.

Truth be told, I don't really think about my family a lot. Not anymore, at least. Is that kinda messed up? Yea, I suppose, but when I spend too much time on the thought, I get upset. So I try to avoid it.

I reach a bathroom and slam the door behind me unintentionally. I guess the whole situation really has me riled up. I brush my teeth, shower, then change.

I exit the bathroom, a little less aggrevated and a bit more my usual optimistic self. I still drag my feet a little, and at one point, I let a huge yawn escape me.

I return to the dorm to find Yang not in her bed, and Blake dressed and is still reading. Ruby now has her pillow over her head, definitely not a morning person. Weiss still sound asleep.

I walk in and close the door behind me with a stretch. That floor is not comfy at all. I look around for Yang before looking at Blake, "Yo, where'd Yang run off to?"

Blake looks up at me and points to the door I failed to see before, "The bathroom, she's getting dressed."

"Wait," I'm sure my face looks stupid right now, "There was a bathroom here? The whole time?"

Blake sighs and delivers a simple, "Yep," before going back to reading.

Yeesh. Talk about short and sweet. Hold the sweet. I let a breath of disappointment escape me before I go back to my little sleeping area, sitting on the floor and fiddling with my scroll.

It isn't too long before Yang comes out. She seems way too energetic for this early. She comes over and shakes Ruby once or twice before getting a pillow smacked into her face. Eventually, she gets Ruby to get up and get ready, though it was a hard fought battle to do so.

Once Ruby gets up and rolling she gets energy fast. After she comes out of the bathroom changed, she sits on her bed near my feet. I give her a smile, and she does the same, "Good morning, Y/n!"

"Good morning, Ruby. Did you sleep well?"

Ruby nods, "Better than I thought I would. These beds are great!"

I meet her enthusiasm with a blank expression, "Oh yea, fantastic honestly."

"I know! I-" she pauses, putting a hand to her chin, "Wait. You didn't sleep in a bed. How would you know?"

"I don't."

The meaning behind my last few sentences hits her like a truck. She adopts a startled expression while rubbing the back of her neck, "Oh! Right! Sorry... I'm sure we can figure something out."

I cut out my faux emotionless act and chuckle under my breath, "It's fine, Ruby. Really. I'm just glad I can be on a team. Especially with someone I somewhat know."

A relieved sigh escapes her, and she nods, "Yea, same here. Though I've met everyone here. I met Blake in the barn, you and Weiss at the same time, and obviously, I knew my sister already. I guess I lucked out."

I hum at that, something on my scroll catching my attention. Another dust store was robbed? What's happening in Vale?

After another 6 or so minutes, Weiss starts to wake up. Ruby, being the brilliant leader she is, grabs a whistle Yang had in her bags and goes to Weiss's bedside. I anticipate the next outcome so I can quickly cover my ears.
