The Second Time Around

Chapter 14

After the class, I called Mommy Mozzy and asked about Kiefer’s kalagayan. She said he’s admitted in St. Luke’s - Global City. He said he’s okay okay na daw, pero need pa siya ma admit for two days para talaga masigurong ok na siya. Over fatigue. Ayan Manong, yan na ang sinasabi ko. 

I told Mama Mo that Mimi and I will fly to Manila later this evening, last flight na lang. Mama said pa nga na wag na lang and magiging ok na rin si Kiefer, but I really insisted. I want to take care of him personally. So wala na lang nagawa si Mama. I’ll just take a two or three days leave. 

When I arrived home, Mimi was crying, alam ko na to. 

‘Mama, Papa’s in the hospital...’ She cried while hugging the life outta me. Paano nalaman ni Mimi?

‘Nakita niya yung news about Kiefer, Ye.’ Yaya Plo said, worried.

‘When I’m preparing for her merienda, yun ang lumabas sa news. Eh akala ko she’s watching cartoons, chinange niya pala ang channel. Kaya ayan, iyak ng iyak.’

‘Mama, Papa needs us there.’ Iyak pa din siya ng iyak.

‘Yes, yes. Don’t worry, Papa’s ok na. But, you want to visit him?’ I asked, wiping those tears away. 

I saw excitement in here face when she heard about it. 

‘Yes please! I want to take care of Papa.’ She said and hugged me. 

Ok, we’ll fly later talaga.

I put Mimi back to the couch and let her watch cartoons again, Yaya’s preparing our dinner.

‘Ya, prepare Mimi’s things ha. Larga mi later. Or you want to come with us?’ I asked as I get some grapes from the fruit basket.

‘Eh ok lang ba nimo if anhi na lang ko, basin maglisod kag alaga ni Mimi adto?’ Yaya Plo asked. Siguro nga walang mag aalaga kay Mimi dun. Sige tayong tatlo lilipad later.

‘Bitaw sad Ya, I’ll be in the hospital pa naman. Sige, uban na ha.’ 

‘Sige Ye, after ani, I’ll prepare your things na din.’ 

We took the last flight to Manila. Thirdy and Dani fetch us in the airport. 

As Mimi saw them waiting at the waiting area, tumakbo agad agad.
