Kirishima's pov

"Hey Bakubro! Wanna hang out after school" I exclaim, heading towards his desk from the back in of the room

"..." Silence, not even a flinch or the slightest movement of the head from Bakugou

I go over, gently tapping his arm a few times. He looks up, frowning at me as I speak about going out tonight. He shrugs before putting his head back down and I stand.. eyes wide.. mouth agape and brain shocked.

It's been the same, since that day. I'm not entirely sure what happened. We came back from winter break, didn't see Bakugou at all and now, now he's silent! He doesn't say anything, just shrugs or nods and shakes his head to respond. It's.. it's weird!

I want- no! We want the old Bakugou back. This sounds stupid but.. I miss his insults. I miss being called shitty hair or Dumbo on the daily.

"So.. any hopes today?" Mina asks, looking over her shoulder to where Bakugou is sat with a book in one hand and a spoon in the other. A plate of curry that's insanely spicy, sat right in front of him on the table.

"Nada.." Sero mumbles softly and I shake my head slowly.

"He doesn't react when you call him, he's always got those dumb headphones in his ears.. what brand is that anyways?" Denki asks and Jirou giggles before walking off. She gently ruffles bakugou's hair as she passes, waving her hand softly as she goes to the kitchen for food.

"Wha-? She acknowledges her?" I whine out and Sero Tut's his tongue softly.

"Maybe he just doesn't like us?" Mina asks softly and I groan.

"No, he treats everyone the same. Including the teachers Mina" I say softly and she sighs before leaning back against the wall.

"Still watching from afar?" Uraraka asks softly, joining us in our corner.

"Yup, he just.. it's odd. The teachers must know the reason.. why won't they tell us?" Denki asks with a whine.

"Actually.. it's only Aizawa and Present Mic. They take him out of lessons sometimes when our other teachers are getting annoyed" Iida says softly, popping up to hand Uraraka a juice box before returning to the Deku squad.

"We could always ask?" I suggest but Sero sighs and bangs his head back against the wall.

Normally this would spark a reaction from Bakugou but he doesn't even look up from his book. His foot stays tapping gently against the floor as his plate is empty and pushed aside.

"They won't tell us, not even if we add a pretty please with a cherry on top. Aizawa's a father figure to all of us, wouldn't spill a thing. Mic is too scared of his husband to let information slip" Sero complains, picking at his jumper that hands off his shoulders.

"Oh well.. we can always try again.. right?" Mina suggests, trying to stay positive.

"I.. I.. can't do that" Nezu says softly and I groan.

"Please.. for us? You're not actually throwing him out, just to get him to talk again" Sero whines out and I hum softly.

"Fine.. fine.. what if he doesn't talk and just takes walking out?" He asks and I groan once more.

"Then we'll sort it, just do it. Make fake documents for him to sign" I say and Nezu nods with a heavy sigh.

"Fine, give me till after lunch.." Nezu says softly and I hum before nodding everyone out of the office.

Bakugou's pov

I watch as Aizawa and Nezu discuss something in front of the class. They both look over to me multiple times but Aizawa looks mad. Like proper pissed off with Nezu.

Are.. they arguing over me?

I can lip read bits here and there. Something about expelling a student. They're gonna expell me?

"You're kicking me out?" I shout, not knowing my actual volume but hoping it's not too loud.

I struggle to read his lips along before turning to Aizawa who signs it to me.

"He's sorry, you're not fit to be a hero if you shut everyone off and ignore people" he signs and I gulp.

"But.. but I'm getting hearing aids, so I can hear a bit again! I'm working on my communication skills, you can't just throw me out! I've been improving here!" I exclaims seeing Aizawa sign that I'm being too loud.

"He's deaf, we're getting hearing aids made to handle his explosions and bring some of his hearing back.. he's taking sign language lessons with Mic and I.. you can't throw him out Nezu, he's got potential even if he is deaf" Aizawa talks as he signs so I can follow along.

Nezu talks, asking about my aids and when they'll be done.

"End of the week" Aizawa says and signs at the same time. I like that Aizawa does this. He signs through his lessons when he's not writing, he and Mic accommodated for me.

That's what makes them great parental figures, great heroes. The two of them have done so much for me and I couldn't be more appreciative.

"You're staying kid.. he doesn't have a proper reason to throw you out" Aizawa signs to me and I nod with a sigh.

"Thank you.." I sign slowly, ruffling my hair from frustration as I sit back in my chair and sigh.  "Explain.. to the class please.." I sign to Aizawa and he nods.

"Bakugou lost his hearing as a result of consistent quirk use.. his explosions damaged his ear drums and so he can't hear, it's muffled noise with ringing.. we've got hearing aids designed to work successfully.. until they arrive, he has music to block out the ringing" Aizawa explains.

He talks to the class but signs along so I can follow along with the conversation. I love that about sensei. He's never once considered not doing so. It helps me, I feel less lost when he does so.

"We run sign language lessons after school on a Tuesday and Friday.. we have special extra classes on the weekend too" Aizawa explains to the class. "It's helpful, I recommend coming along.. he won't always have his aids in" he says and I hum.

"Bakubro.. you're still super manly" Kirishima exclaims, exaggerating his mouth movement so I can lip read easier before signing the last part.

"You sign?" I ask and he nods with a shrug.

"Little" he signs and I smile before launching myself on him with a tight hug.

When I let him go, I lean back and smile.

"Happy" I sign to Kirishima and he smiles so widely.

"Good" he signs before ruffling my hair which just makes me laugh.

I'm so grateful to have a friend like hum.
