Valentine's Day, 5 PM
i stood at the snack stand, waiting for julia. as i waited, i saw many happy couples walking around while kids were running around happily with their friends.
or, at least i thought they were running around with their friends. maybe the kids had valentines too? i wouldn't say it wasn't possible.
while i was investigating the growing crowd, i heard a voice behind me.
julia is in italics
"poo"
"so, what's your crappy plan?"
"i was thinking that i could publish a magazine and-"
"spread rumors about others?"
"let me finish."
"..."
"- i could do some 'investigation' on old drama and confirm it or not. maybe then the drama will calm down."
"at least you're not spreading rumors. what rumors do you have in mind that you want to 'deep dive' into?"
"the rumor of ayaka having over 100 dildos, the rumor of sara secretly owning a sex store, the-"
"that's concerning. how do you want to investigate these?"
"um."
"well?"
"asking them about it and trying to investigate their expression, and then i'll sneak into their residences and check for evidence."
"you sure that'll work?"
"positive."
before i could respond, julia had walked away, leaving me at the snack stand.
i checked my phone to text yae, but she had suddenly texted me before i could even start typing.
(it was 9:32 AM while i was writing this stop)

yae: where are you?
me: snack stand near my house
yae: which one?
yae: ohh i see you now Read, 5:16 PM
"hey y/n!" yae waved, approaching me. she was wearing a pink dress, patterned with red hearts. it ended slightly above her knee. she was also wearing pink heels to match her dress.
"i'm not late, am i?" she asked. "oh, no! not at all." i smiled. "did you bring any mora? i forgot my purse at home." yae said awkwardly. "don't worry, i have 5000 in my pocket. let's go!" i said.
and so, we went off having fun. we participated in the mini games, we did some taste-testing for other snack-stand owners, and we did the photobooth that julia had set up.
"hmm, i feel like the festival is missing something." yae said. i looked at my watch. "well, it's 7 pm. we should find a place to watch the fireworks." i suggested.
we went, behind my house, to the same old place we had watched fireworks together last year.
"these aren't as colorful as the new year ones," yae stated. "but the pink and red surely do show the theme of valentine's day!"
i nodded my head in agreement as our eyes followed the fireworks.
while the firework show was about to end, yae asked me a question i will never forget.
"will you be my partner?"
