i ran into my kitchen and pulled out all the ingredients of udon noodles out of my pantry/fridge.
while i was making homemade udon noodles, i remembered something my mother had told me.
February 14, 2004
"mama, i got rejected at school today." i said, looking up at my mom as tears filled my eyes. i was a naive, young child who only cared about my reputation at school. i was careful to not mess up, because i knew that would be the end of me.
"sweetie, don't worry. what happened?" my mom asked, looking into my eyes. her eyes looked caring and harmless, as if she would never have left me in inazuma.
".. my crush rejected me." i sobbed, my voice cracking due to the emotions swirling around my body. tears were gracefully falling down my face, like raindrops during a light storm.
"don't worry honey. love is a complicated concept, and you'll find someone soon." my mother smiled, her eyes shining with care.
"what does that mean, mom?" i asked, looking up at her. i was confused, and desperately needed an explanation that would fit in my young mind.
"just remember this. if i ever lose you.. you'll have something to remember me by." my mom smiled.
Current Day
"done!" i smiled, looking at the beautiful creation that my hands had worked on. homemade udon noodles - my new specialty?
i texted yae again.

i grabbed a warm, comfortable jacket , slipped it on, placed a lid on the udon noodles and carefully set it into a plastic bag.
i headed out the door and locked it. i then checked my phone once again, making sure she wasn't lying to me.
she wasn't.
