MY GREY WORLD

Chapter 6

Even if I am just waking up, I am as tired as a big fat pig. I grudgingly got up to take a shower. Beulah was still asleep and Brittney wasn't in.

I wonder where she is, so early in the morning.

After taking my bath, I get dressed absentmindedly, Thanksgiving was fast approaching and I was fucking depressed as ever, I didn't want to go home and we weren't allowed to stay in the dorm. I try to get my mind off it and dwell on the fact that we were allowed to leave the hostel today.

I was quite excited, I haven't even taken a tour around the town yet. The door creaked open as I hurriedly put on a t-shirt with a view of mount Everest.

"Good morning" oh she went jogging, even if I suggested the friendship thing it was still quite awkward.
"Hey" she replied as she begins to undress.
I immediately turn back as I was cut unaware.
She chuckled. She finally goes to the bathroom after about two hours of undressing... Just joking. it didn't even last thirty seconds.

"This is amazing", I grin as I take a sip of the rich flavor of Scotland chocolate.
"I told you so" Beulah replied, she was with her boyfriend probably from our school.
"I know a popular gaming booth, should we go there?" He asked
"Hmmmnhmmn" I nodded

The gaming booth was only a few blocks away. The place was magnificent, it has different sections with different video games and all. I opted for the VR car race, it was cool and I was to go against Beulah's boyfriend, as I was very interested in cars I was quite a driver, I used to do this with my best friend before he died.

We played for a while and of course, I won each race. Beulah went to use the washroom before we left.

"Uhm, Eur..." Her boyfriend seemed to have a hard time remembering my name.
"Eurell"
"Right, Eurell, I planned something special for Beulah today... You know...so can you pl...
I chuckled, "I understand, you can have her".
He wanted to talk but sees Beulah approaching so he simply nods.

"So what did I miss"
"Nothing Beulah, hmmm my uncle...just called, he is in town so I would like to meet him". I lied.
"Ohh, ok" she nods in disappointment.
I hug her and bade goodbye to her and her boyfriend.

What to do, I am not even familiar with the city but I didn't want to be a burden on Beulah and her boyfriend and I didn't want to go back to school.
I look at the map we were given a while back and decided to go to a mini golf center just some blocks away.

"Hmmn, you are good" I heard as I score a hole in one
"Thank you", I said as I turned towards the voice facing a guy in his mid-twenties, I furrowed my eyebrows he looked familiar.
"You aren't from here?"
"No", I replied as I tried to focus on the ball. I hit scoring another hole-in-one.
"Hmmn, competition", he nodded
"You wanna try?" I ask smirking
"Sure". He said as he took a golf stick.

"That was a good game kid," he said patting my shoulder.
I cringed at him calling me kid.
"You want me to show you around" he offered
"Ohh...no, no I don't want to be a bother. I turned it down.
"Come on, it's no biggie"

I spent the rest of the day with the guy, we went skiing, white water rafting, and stand-up paddle boarding. I must admit the fun I had in the last ten years summed up wasn't up to the fun I had experienced today.
"Oh..jeez...I have a dinner date by 6:30 I gotta go but I must say I had fun" he said as ruffled my hair.
I smiled brightly "Yeah man, thanks I haven't had so much fun in a while"
He shrugged "No biggie".
I couldn't keep my curiosity to myself anymore, "do I know you?"
He grinned, "I don't know, do you know any Robertson Rory"
My eyes grew wider, ohh...shit. "you...you are R-square"
"Wow, I never expected to meet a fan like this"
"Are you kidding, I am like your biggest fan, I have viewed all your races, In 2016 you won the Rally Finland, 2018 you were the runner-up of the le mans but came back well prepared in 2019 and took the title, you also won FIA Formula 3 championships.
"Wow, wow" he was clapping as he looked at me in awe. "I didn't know I had such a big fan, it is wonderful".
I shrugged, "I love car racing, I would love to be either a car racer or a mechanical engineer".
"You sure do love cars".

I would have loved to spend more time with you however I gotta run, but I am quite sure we will meet again.
I nodded and extended my hand for a shake.
"Ohh come on," he said as he pulled me into a hug.
"This is my card, don't hesitate to call anytime".
I nodded and then remembered I didn't tell him my name. "My name is Eurell".
He smiled and bade goodbye.
