I loved this book! It is a fairly short read and follows the building relationship between Valda Hufflepuff and James Potter once Val agrees to date him to make Lily jealous. Although there are many renditions of this storyline, Val boasts a strong demeanor and is very likable. She doesn't put up with mistreatment, keeps a fairly level head during times of conflict, and the underlying romance between her and James is realistic and enviable. Be warned for a dislikable character in Peter and some of the encounters with him do escalate quickly, but personally, I have always had a soft spot for Peter so I have to admit, I'm biased. Haha, but I absolutely adored all the references to Alice in Wonderland (especially the alternative ending!). This author is a talented one!
