It's a year after graduation and Hermione feels a bit downtrodden. After seven years of high-stakes adventures and defeating the wizarding world's darkest wizard, she now holds an average job at the Ministry. What happened to all the grand plans she devised in her youth? When she is called forward in the Wizengamot to defend Draco Malfoy in trial, the flood of feelings she had tried to barricade for the snide blonde comes rushing back. Once they become co-workers, keeping her distance is no longer an option and Hermione begins to wonder if she ever understood Draco to begin with. Or is there more he's hiding about his past?
I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I read it in one day, it was so good. And normally I'm not a huge Dramione fan (terrible, I know). Their relationship usually just seems too predictable to me. But this book goes beyond the typical love-hate dynamic and examines the storyline if Hermione and Draco had perhaps liked each other all along. This story was developed wonderfully, with several brief flashbacks that detail their interactions in Hogwarts and I loved how the author included so many central characters. The dynamic between Harry, Ginny, and Hermione was wonderful and I don't typically like Ginny very much, so this threw me for a loop! It was heartwarming to see how the heroes were able to stay connected and attempt to adjust to "normal" life after so many years of turmoil. Most of all, the connection between Draco and Hermione is HOT! You will be left wanting more from every chapter! Time for you to slyther - in to this story...
