(KD) - Boyfriend's Suprise

Request from stellarosedutton A request for Kayce, what if the reader has never had a party for her birthday so he surprises her and Tate helps him.

"I still can't believe that she's never had a party." Tate said handing his dad his present he made for his girlfriend Y/n. Kayce simply nodded down to his son closing the horse pen that had two horses set up and ready to go for when Y/n got back from town. She'd been studying to work with his father's friend Donnie at his sheriff's department. Kayce and Y/n got together after his wife Monica told him to leave because she didn't want to be around his family. He didn't think he would fall in love with someone else but when he saw her playing guitar on stage in the bar. The truck pulled up and she stepped watching the two eyeing her.

"Y/n!" Tate cried rushing and hugging me. I bend down on my legs picking him up that brings a huge smile to my face. "Hey buddy. Did you and your dad miss me?" He nods yes when I stared at Kayce who walked over placing a brown cowgirl hat on my head covering my eyes when I put Tate on his feet. "Kayce, what are you doing?" He slowly leads me forward seconds later before he removed his hands so I see two horses with everything for a picnic. "Since you never really had a birthday party. Tate and I decided we should go on a ride and have a birthday picnic in the mountains. And give you presents. What do you think sweetheart?" He stuttered the last sentence rubbing the back of his neck nervousnessly.

Spinning around on my heels I jumped into his arms suddenly making him stumble a little to get his balance. I kissed him with a huge smile as Tate chuckled at the two of us. "I guess she enjoyed the sunrise huh dad." Kayce breaks the kiss sitting me on my feet helping me up onto my horse. Sitting Tate on his horse first he climbed on behind and the three of us rode into the mountains where he knew there was a great view of the fields. The sunset is over the view after hours of us eating food until Tate hands me a small box smiling. "Open my present first Y/n." Untying the ribbon I see a small bracelet made of my favorite colors with a little horse charm on the end. "Oh Tate it's adorable. You made this yourself." He nods when I gave him a hug again. "Dad had to buy the charm though. I'm glad you liked it."

"So Miss birthday girl are you ready for my gift?" Kayce spoke smiling that one of a king smiles at me. Turning my body to face him I mirror his smile. "Lay it on me cowboy." He hands me another box that is long and skinny where I open it I see a golden locket inside. "Oh my god Kayce. Where did you get this, it's beautiful." I picked it up unlocking it to see a picture of Kayce and Tate smiling back at me. "I didn't buy it if that's what you think...." He trailed off picking it up and clasping it around my neck. "It was my mother's favorite necklace. She gave it me before she died." Resting my hand to his face I wipe away his tears leaning up and kissing him. He kisses back before we heard Tate gaging in the background. "Eww gross. Stop it please."
