Facing the Fear

Beth stepped out onto the front porch of the cabin she shared with her new fiancé Rip Wheeler. Wrapping a blanket around herself she stared up at the stars  feeling her whole body stiffened at the wind hitting her. Closing her eyes she clutched the blanket around her tighter feeling the night she got attacked at her office still fresh in her mind. The men's hands tearing at her clothes trying to rape her just because she was the daughter of John Dutton.

Sitting up in the bed Rip rubbed his eyes seeing Beth's side of the bed was empty. Tossing the covers he threw on a work shirt and pants searching the house. Seeing the front door creaked open he had found her starting to cry and her body shaking. "Beth, what's wrong?" He asked softly as to not scare her more. She spun on her feet starting to cry and take punches at him not  realizing that she was in fact safe. "Get the fuck away from me. Get away from me!" She shouts as he grabs her arms holding her in place shouting trying to bring her back.

"Beth, Beth, it's me. I love you, it's me. You're here with me!" Beth slapped the man holding her seconds before she realized it was the man she loved. Gently she traced his face feeling the burning of his cheek that made her heart hurt with regret. "God Baby I'm sorry." She gasped feeling tears running down her face but Rip pulled her body flesh to his kissing her head as she sobbed into his shirt, clutching the fabric of his shirt with everything she had. "Sssshh honey it's okay. You're okay, I'm always here." He whispers leading her to sit down on the swing with him.

Beth kept crying out apologizes to him but it didn't matter that she hit him, it never would. Because he knew that if anyone tries to hurt her again he would kill them. He wanted to bring back the men who have given her panic attacks and nightmares so he could kill them all over again. "Sweetheart look at me please...I'll be here for everything. Nothing you do will ever change that. I love you Beth Dutton." Beth wiped away her tears finally putting a smile to the cowboy. "Rip I love you too. You've had my heart always since the day we met." He leans down kissing her forehead as she snuggled into his comfortable embrace.
