Removing my red flannel I tossed it on the bed looking at myself in the mirror seeing the long scar on my lower back that went across. I sighed feeling some tears starting to slip down my face. Getting the scar was from my past with my abusive ex boyfriend in college. I moved to Montana needing a different life and I luckily got the chance to work at the Yellowstone ranch. Foosteps entered the room and I knew who it was before he even spoke a word, my new boyfriend Rip. "Hey baby why are you crying?" He asked slowly walking into the room taking my hands in his. Shaking my head I avoided his gaze feeling that he will find it silly that I'm insecure about it. "It's nothing, Rip..."

He lifted his freehand up to my cheek tilting my chin up so I would look into his brown eyes. Slowly I reached for my flannel not wanting him to see the scar because I don't think it's okay to have one. "Y/n, hey. You can tell me anything. You know that right. So please tell me what's making you upset." He pressed onward trailing my shaking form until I felt his hand moving down my back. He softly traced the pattern of the scar with his fingers seeing me sniffing more tears. "Are you crying because of this, honey?" Burying my face against his chest my hands gripping the fabric of his black jacket crying. "It's not a cute thing to have. It just shows that I'm weak and can't defend myself. I've been questioning recently..why are you with me even!"

"Oh baby, you aren't weak for having a scar. Look I have one that means something." He pulled down part of his shirt showing the Yellowstone letter burn on his chest. "It's not the same thing, Rip. You chose to get that. I didn't choose mine...you shouldn't find it as something special." He softly spun me around planting some kisses on the scar wrapping his arms around my waist from behind kissing my cheek smiling. Turning around in his hold his makes me smile. "The scar shows that you're tough Y/n. It's shows that you don't let it define you and that's one of the things I love about you." Leaning up on my toes I kissed him slowly feeling him kiss back. "Thank you baby. I love you too Rip."
