(RW) Barn Wedding

Request from coffer_bish something with Rip. Spoiler Alert : I decided to do something with the season 4 finale :)

Brushing my hands down my white dress I take a deep breath in trying to calm my nerves. Today I was marrying the love of my life, Rip Wheeler. I'm the youngest Dutton, one older sister and three older brothers. Beth entered my room wearing a revealing dress because she went to see someone in prison to get information. "I can't believe you're the one getting married. You still seem like a damn baby in my eyes." I smile looping my arm through hers exiting the house heading for the barn. I'd decided on a barn theme wedding so there are lights hanging and the horse stables are all cleaned.

Rip stands by the minister with Carter by his side. Beth squeezes my hand as dad comes forward letting some tears show already. He pulls something from his pocket revealing a golden necklace. "This was your mother's. So she's with you in some form today, babygirl." I feel tears slipping already looping an arm through his letting him escorting me to my soon to be husband and his soon to be son in law. Reaching Rip dad rests a hand to his shoulder saying as he puts my hand in Rip's waiting palm. "Take good care of her, Rip." He tips his hat up with his freehand. "I will, sir."

"Repeat the words after me. I, your name, promise to love and protect, her name until death due us part." The minister spoke resting his hand over our intertwined ones. "I, Rip Wheeler promise to love and protect, Y/n Dutton until death due us part." Rip grinned down at me with the biggest smile I've ever seen on his lips in my whole life. I let tears slip seeing some in his dark brown eyes too, resighting the vow to Rip. "I, Y/n Dutton promise to love and protect, Rip Wheeler until death due us part." Rip reached in his pockets pulling out a simple wedding ring, getting a little choked up about it. "I know it's not much since my family was poor. But I hope you like it, it's my mother's."

I gasped grinning brighter knowing he loved his mom and this means the world to him for me to wear it. He slowly slipped it on as the minister announced. "By the power vested in me by the state if Montana I now pronoce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." Rip cups my face in his hands pressing his lips down onto mine. My hands wrapped around his neck with me leaning up on my tippy toes deepening the kiss. Once we break for air I see we're mirroring the exact same grin on our faces with everyone else clapping in the background.

Beth watched our father leave the barn leaning in the doorway wiping away tears after removing his black cowboy hat from his head. He never thought he'd be a crying mess giving his little daughter to his loyalist ranch hand, but here he was crying with happy tears. "It's done my sweet Evelyn. Our youngest is all grown up. She's married to a man who loves her as much as I love you. He'll treat her well." The sun brightened through the clouds and John believed it was her way of saying she completely agreed up in Heaven.
