jayduttonx I hope you like it :) Beth helps set her brother Kayce up with his best friend Y/n.

Beth's POV
Normally I don't get involved with others romantic lives barely being able to handle my own with Rip. But my little brother needs my help, badly. Watching from the kitchen window I see a certain truck pull up in our driveway as my brother dismounted his horse. Y/n L/n has been a family friend for years. Always around on this ranch where some of us started to think she lived here permanently. "Kayc!" Y/n exclaimed running into his arms wrapping her arms around him happily.

"Y/n, I wasn't expecting you to be here until tonight." My brother hugged her back smiling bigger once they pulled away looking at one another. "Well, you're sister called and said there was a problem." He furrowed his brows at the woman before him. "What problem?" I walk down the stairs in my heeled boots crossing my arms over my chest as I stare at the pair. "The problem is that you two are hopelessly in love with each other. You just don't want to admit it. And I wanted to put an end to all the flirting."

Y/n tilts her head to the side thinking I'm crazy. "Beth, we don't flirt or love each other." My brother nodded his head in agreement. "Yeah, sis we're just friends." I take a step towards him fighting with a good comeback. "Oh really brother. Then tell me why you wear that hat all the time. You know the one she loves to steal and wear instead." Kayce rolls his eyes at me. "It's the only hat I own, sis." Staring at him I scowl at his bad answer. "Kayce, there's literally five other hats hanging in your room."

"Beth, how do you think anything I do is flirting?" Y/n asks her hands shoved in her jacket pockets. Shacking my head the wind blows some of my hair around. "How about the nickname, Kayc?" Y/n blushes a little red and I see a blush already on my brother's cheeks. I got'em now. "Now am I gonna have to make you two kiss or can you figure that out?" I joked showing a smile towards the two. Y/n turns to face her best friend looking at her boots at first. "Kayce, I like you. I - I was just afraid you didn't feel the same..."

My little brother messes with his black cowboy hat stuttering out his words. "Same here, Y/n. I just didn't want to make our friendship weird if you didn't - oh to heck with this." He strides up to her quickly cupping her face in his hands gently kissing her. She slowly rounded her arms around his neck, her fingers twisting into his curly locks. "I bet you're both glad I made that phone call now aren't you?" I called out wanting some credit causing them to break away.

"Thank you, Beth." They both said blushing deeply. Y/n snagged his hat covering her blushes face. Kayce pulled her into his side with his right arm blushing still. "Don't have too much fun love birds!" I called over my shoulder heading over to Rip who smiled seeing me happy. "What's got you so happy, darlin'?" He dismounted his horse leaning on the fence. Laying my head on his chest I feel his other other arm snake around my waist. "I finally got those two to quit making love eyes at each other." He kisses my forehead as we watched the pair climb on my brother's horse riding off into the sunset.
