A humming sound wakes me from whatever I was asleep or passed out I'm not sure. All I remember is that I had a car crash and Kayce ended up finding me. Blinking my eyes to adjust to the bright lights I see someone laying at my bedside with them asleep holding my hand. "K - Kayce?" I croaked out feeling my throat is dry and there's an iv in my arm so I must have had surgery since I'm still sleepy even though I just woke up. His head shoots up and he gasped choking out in tears scooting closer in his chair. "Y/n, God you scared the hell out of me...I thought I'd lost you." I move my freehand into his squeezing it lightly mumbling. "I'm sorry, Kayce."

Foosteps approached where I see it's a doctor carrying a clipboard entering my room. "I must say you gave Mr. Dutton quite the scare Ms. L/n." I feel my smile drop picturing Kayce was a nervous reck around the hospital. "But the good news is that you lost some blood but nothing major. So you'll get to go home this afternoon. Oh and Mr. Dutton how would you like the payment?' Kayce started to respond until his father entered the room resting a hand on the doctors shoulder. "I'll take care of it, doc. She's basically family." The doctor nodded showing John the papers where I just might pass out. He hates hospitals and yet here he was paying my bills.

Kayce and I turned to face each other where I can see visible tears in his eyes plus some slip down his face. I scoot over in the bed as much as I can wanting him up here with me which he gladly accepts. He wrapped his arms around me and I do the same to him feeling him trying to pull me as close as he could. Terrified to lose me and afraid if he let's me go for a second that might just happen. "I love you, I love you, more than anything." He mumbled into my hair over and over lightly crying. Lifting my head up I rest a hand to his cheek giving him a gentle kiss whispering. "I love you too Kayce. It's always been and going to be you." John watched from the front desk smiling and he knew Evelyn would be smiling down at their youngest son finding love.
