"alright are we ready for warms-ups? let's go" our coach asks the team but our team didn't pay attention to the question he just asked but what he looked like today "wow coach what are your plans today?" I finally ask behind one the team had done laughing "yeah alright alright" he said with eyes rolling. i felt averman was going to make a joke and i was right "nice jacket, did you get two pairs of pants with that?" everyone started laughing. then i see fulton and dean go to coach, i heard their talk "good night last night coach?" asked fulton "yeah it was fine" I heard coach answer it "what did you do?" Dean asked after "oh i just yk watched some tv and got early to bed" what were they up to? "but not without a little dessert right?" said dean before he stepped away "A little ice cream maybe" Fulton said and then stepped away. I don't get it, what do they mean? then i saw averman go to coach again, here we go again. "yo, nice haircut. hm what ya lose a bet?" I couldn't resist and laughed. something was going on but I have no idea what. I stood up and felt pain in my knee, is this a good idea? I have to do it. I can't just abandon my team. shit I had to put on the first part already. I stepped on the ice and started to skate slowly then I felt someone skating next to me, jesse. "hey y/n, how's ya knee?" he said loudly and that made a few people look at us "be quiet nobody should know this and it's nice" "don't worry" i said with a small smile but he didn't smile "i do worry, you're my bestfriend" he said before skating to the rest

it was time and my heart was beating faster every second. I said very quietly "shit" when I heard someone say "let's play hockey""hi everybody, welcome to today's game. this is a very important match. team usa against iceland.i saw jesse doing the face off with some boy who was talking idek what language "what does that mean?" asked jesse "you'll find out" oh- i was distracted for a moment and didn't see what was happening because guy who wasn't allowed to join this first piece was making hand gestures at me i had no idea what it meant but it was cute. suddenly i saw that dean was removed from the game already?

"you're throwing him out? you can't do that!!" I hear my coach sayI also see an angry dean. iceland had their first goal "great" says connie next to me. I skate to connie and say "coach is getting mad, look at him" "oh shit" she saysgoldberg managed to stop a goal, finally. I had the puck and skated to the goal but then I suddenly feel a big pain in my knee I could cry. i passed it on to dwayne who stood before my free. everyone on my team looked at me weird except coach he looked rather angry so i'm going to hear about this. I saw that ken had to try something from coach but that didn't work at all. he just nearly flew away. and again iceland scoredI wanted to do something but the pain held me back and I felt coach looking in my direction but decided to ignore it. finally break"where is our consentration?" I heard coach ask"you are headless chickens but then on the ice, that's not supposed to be" bla bla bla "we're doing our best" jesse says "well your best is not enough" who does this man think he is?"blow this game and then we only have one chance" I rolled my eyes"you might want to go home early but i sure as hell don't" he says still angrily i wanted to say something but i was only going to make it worse. so i kept my mouth shut"4-0 for Iceland"I still have to get on it but when can I get off it?"5-0 for Iceland""you're off goldberg" at last julie can play. I love her.I heard people from the other team talking to you about how a woman couldn't play hockey, I wanted to punch them in the face. julie stood up for herself and was kicked out of the game pff what stupid. banks scored and that makes it 5-1 for icelandoh well nevermind now it's already 12-1 for icelandthey won. Coach isn't happy about this and you can see it. we were all in the locker room as coach just came in

"twelve to one" he said as he walked over and over "do you know what word pops into my head when I think of that?" everyone was quiet"pathetic""you came here to play hockey" was anyone going to say something?"what about you?" after a while jesse asked "what about me, jesse?"and julie also said something "coach stansson knew all about us, he was ready for us" and then luis "yeah and you spind your time riding around in convertibles talking to those sponsers" and then fulton said something too and it shocked me" or hanging with the iceland chick. we saw you two saturday night" then dean "eat ice cream with the enemy huh coach" i heard voices of people in shock "hey what i do you don't care at all. understand?" and I had had enough of this so I got up and walked out of the room, out where there was no one else. when I just walked away I heard people calling my name but I pretended I didn't hear it.

I had to walk away because I was going to say things I didn't mean at all.

I went back and saw that they were still training. i went on the ice and saw coach walk straight to us and damn he looked angry "y/n why did you run away? i was busy saying something. never do this again" he said angrily waiting for my answeri looked at the ice and heard him say "join the rest now" i looked at my team and felt guilty for walking away. a few asked if everything was okay. 

We were doing the exercise when I suddenly feel myself drop to my knees and people who are coming towards me are skating and then I hear Jesse's voice. he can't say. he promised, right? "coach i know y/n didn't let me tell this but this is too bad. yesterday during our game when she fell she got a big wound on her knee, if you don't believe me see for yourself" i looked at jesse with tears in my eyes. how can he do this?coach looks at my knee and i hear everyone say "eww" and honestly it's really ew too. "y/n why didn't you tell us?" coach asked me "uh because then I wouldn't have been allowed to play in the upcoming games" he looked at me and said "that's true and I'm sorry but I can't let you play like this." I sighed and started to get up and slowly went to the changing rooms and changed before the others got there. I didn't want to talk to them right now.

 I walked home with tears streaming from my eyes.
