Chapter 17

We woke up around 10am that morning. I opened my eyes and rolled over to face Calum who sat there smiling. "As much as I love you, that is the creepiest thing ever to wake up to" I giggled. "Well, I don't care because it's your birthday and today is gonna be AMAZING" he pecked my lips. I stood up and walked out to the main room of the tour bus. "Good morning birthday girl!" Ashton sang as I sat on the couch. Calum stalked into the room with something big behind his back. "Whatcha got there, doo doo head?" I gave him a weird look. "Oh this?" He pulled out the big box. "Is that for me?" I stared at it like it was Christmas morning. "Well now that you called me a doo doo head I guess it's for Ashton." I jumped up and hugged his waist "I'm sorry! I love you!!" I squeezed him tightly. "Okay okay. Since you apologize. I present Gift one of many" he hands me the box and I sit right on the ground criss cross apple sauce to open it. I pull the wrapping paper off and open the box. "Calum! It's beautiful!" I gushed as I pulled the peachy colored shift dress with lace around the edges. "Thank you so much" I stood up and hugged him tightly. "Anything for you, babe" he kissed me and Ashton fake gagged. "Now go get changed! We gotta take a photo for insta" he said like a teenage girl. I laughed and walked into the bathroom. I put on the dress, it fit perfectly and look amazing with my little tan gladiator sandals. I let my hair fall loose down my back with its natural waves. I did a natural brown smokey eye makeup and put on some nude lipstick. I walked out and Alice and Lauren were on the couch in the same dress I was wearing only in black. "WE MATCH!" I jumped up and down as they laughed. They stood up and we had Mikey take a photo of us. I posted it on Instagram with the caption "birthday shenanigans #matchymatchy". Calum walked out wearing a black button up shirt and black skinny jeans. "You look beautiful" he gave me a kiss. "You look hot" I giggled as he handed Lauren his phone. "Take a photo, please?" She nodded and I stood by Calum with my arm around his waist and my other resting on his stomach and he had his around my waist softly resting on the lower arch of my back. We both smiled as she took the photo, "ooh! You should give her a piggy back ride! That'd be cute!" Alice said from her spot on the couch. I gave her a weird look, " in a dress?" She nodded. "Hop on" Calum bent down, "but my dre-" he cut me off "get on Delaney" he said seriously. I hopped on his back and wrapped my arms around his neck, his big hands went to my thighs for support. Lauren basically just held down the button as we tried to do a pose. We were both laughing so I decided on just kissing his cheek. When I got off I took cals phone and sent me all the photos. I took the one of me kissing his cheek and the one of us laughing and put them in a collage for Instagram. I quoted it with " my ride or die, my main squeeze, my homie g, but most importantly, my everything." I posted it to Twitter and watched my notifications blow up. I smiled as Calums Instagram notification came up, he had posted the photo of me on his back with the both of us laughing. He captioned it with " I love being in the type of relationship where you're totally comfortable around each other, and there's no pressure to act a certain way. There's no awkward moments. You can be weird and lazy when you're together, make fun of each other, tickle each other and then just laugh it off like you're best friends because you are. A relationship where you can call each other nicknames and there is lots and lots of laughing involved in the y time you spend together, but you can also be serious. You can just be yourself with the comfort of knowing that's what the other person loves the most. And I have that. Happy Birthday, Baby! I love you so much." I started tearing up and hugged Calum tightly. "I love you so much! And this day has been the best yet! You're the best thing that's ever happened to me" he hugged me back and kissed the top of my head, "I love you more baby, but this day isn't over yet so let's make it even better!" I giggled and pulled away pecking his lips. "Part two of your gifts! You and the girls are going to a tea while I set up your big surprise!" I smiled. " alright! Let's go!" Alice smiled grabbing my hand and pulling me to the car. When we arrived at the tea lunch, we were taken to a private little room that was bright from windows and looked very elegant. I walked to the table and on my plate was a little blue Tiffany&Co. Box and a note that had my name on it. "Who's that from?" Alice asked as lost as I was. "The note says "Dear my Beautiful girlfriend, I told you, the necklace you got 2 months ago was not the first and last you'd get of these. I'm so thankful for everything you do and you are an amazing human being all around. I love you so much and promise to make today rememberable. Love Cal"". The girls awed and I looked at the box. "WELL OPEN IT!" Lauren got excited. I took the ribbon off and opened the box, in it delicately laid a small silver bracelet that matched the anchor necklace he had previously given me. "You guys are literally couple goals" Alice joked as she admired the bracelet. "I don't know what I did to deserve him" I said as I slowly slipped the bracelet on my wrist. "That's what I love most about your relationship" Alice continued, "you both are so in love with each other, and you don't realize it and that's what makes everything for you guys work" she smiled. "Present time, yeah?" Lauren asked pulling out 4 gift bags. "Guys!" I groaned. "Everyone is spending too much on me and I don't need all this stuff!" They both laughed and Alice handed me the first bag. In it contained a picture frame that held a photo of us in Australia. "Awe! Guys I love it!" I ran my fingers over the frame. They handed me the next bag and in was a shirt that said ' #future mrs. Hood' I laughed. "This is funny" they nodded and gave each other an odd look. Like usual, I ignore and they hand me the 3rd gift. I opened it and it was a Alex and Ani bracelet with a 'C' for Calum. "Awh! I already have the 'D' one too!" I smiled as I put it on my wrist. "Alright, now the last gift is from Mikey, Luke, and Ash" they laughed as they handed me the bag. I pulled out what was inside and my eyes widened. "What!" I laughed. They had given me a box of condoms. "Why wouldn't they give this to Calum!" I laughed to the point of tears. "I told them to go along with the Disney Pillow Pet" Lauren laughed with me. "Oh! It's almost 5:30! We gotta get to the place!" Alice stood up frantically. "What? What place?" I asked but they both ignored me and rushed me to the car. We arrived to this big, fancy, restaurant and they led me inside. They led me to a set of stairs, "we hate to do this, but you have to put this on.." Alice said as she pulled out a blind fold. I groaned but let them put in on me and lead me upstairs. I heard them open a door and close it behind me. "Shit it's dark!" I heard Alice laugh. They led me up about three stairs and then stopped. "Okay babes. Stay right here and don't move" I nodded as I felt their presences walk away. I felt two hands grab mine and pull me forward into a hug. I could immediately tell it was Calum. I hugged back, "I love you, baby" he whispered as his hands let go of mine and disappeared. "Cal?" No one answered. I felt two hands behind me untie my blind fold and it fell to the floor. When I opened my eyes, there on one knee, was Calum. In his left hand a tiny box, and in his right a microphone. My eyes widened as I realized we were on a stage and there were about 75 of our closest friends in the room. "Calum?" He smiled, "Delaney, you are the most beautiful person I have ever met, and I'm intrigued by your beauty every morning. And every morning I couldn't imagine ever waking up next to someone else." My hand covered my mouth as tears threaten to fall. He continued, "and I know we've only been together for 3 month 1 week and 4 days, but those have been the best days of my life and you may think I'm crazy but that's why we work for each other because I think you're crazy too," everyone including me laughed. "And I may hate the way you call me Asian when you get mad," he chuckled as I heard Alice bust out laughing. "But I wouldn't want anyone else in the whole world to call me Asian, even when I'm not. This ended up being way longer than I planned, so I guess what I'm trying to say is, Delaney, will you do me the honors of marrying me?" I started crying as he opened the box and revealed a gorgeous diamond ring. "Calum, I-i don't know what to say!" His eyes widened as he waited for an answer, "I-I'm going to have to say.........."
