Raymond Steele
My tour was done and I get a call from the CO telling me I need to go to the hospital immediately. He has me picked up with all my belongings to sign my exit papers and then taken to a nearby hospital. I walk in and they have me taken to the nursery. I look at the doctor and he hands me the birth certificate of a baby girl. Anastasia Rose Steele, but I don't recognize the girls name on the document. They look at me and ask me if I want my newborn daughter or do I want to give my rights to her up. I ask where the mother is at and they show me where she has signed her rights away to me. I look at the name of the girl and it has to be a fake name. Jane Smith indeed. They ask me if I want to hold my daughter. Then they tell me they can't find any further relatives to send her home with and If I don't want her there are plenty of people who will be willing to adopt her. I can't do that because whoever the mother is must have known I would be a good father to this baby and I will be. The first time I hold her she grabs my shirt and holds on for dear life. Then she falls asleep. I know the basics of feeding her and diapering her. I just need to learn the other aspects of caring for her. They send me home with a few things and a car seat. We drive across country to Seattle and I stock up on baby books, formula, diapers clothes and we arrive in Seattle in four days. I found a place to buy a portable bed so she can sleep in it until I get to the home my parents left me. We are going to have to go shopping for groceries, but we can make do with the furniture left inside the house. I will need to hire someone to take care of Anastasia. I think I might ask Jason's wife if she thinks she can handle one more baby to care for. I will pay her well. Jason and I are starting a security company with our savings and my inheritance.

When Ray told me about him being named as the father of a newborn baby I died laughing until I realized he was serious. What's so funny about it us that he was told by the military doctors he couldn't have children after he was involved in a very odd incident that put him in the hospital. I mean he is sexually active, but we were on a mission at the time this baby could have been conceived. Well he was gone at that time. I was home just long enough to get Gail pregnant and headed out to join up with Ray and the others in our group. Our daughters were born within a month of each other. Whoever the mother is gave the hospital enough information to call Ray's and my CO and they got him to the hospital to pick his daughter up before he left the barracks for good. Gail and I beat him here by half a day. We opened up the houses on his parents property. They left him a very nice property by the sound with two big homes, a dock, a pool, pool house and a boat house. The grounds are beautiful. Ray has been making sure the property was taken care of until he got back home. I recall when he had to take care of their estate and his inheritance. I then see the carpentry shed as Ray calls it at the back of the property. Gail loves the gardens especially the herb and vegetable garden. Each house has a small green house attached to it right off the kitchen.

Jason told me about Ray and his incident and someone named him as the father of a newborn baby. He was also on assignment, but he decided to accept the baby girl. The mother gave the name Jane Smith the baby is quite beautiful and could easily be mistaken for Rays daughter if you didn't look too close that is. She is quite beautiful with huge blue eyes looking around in wonder. Ray asked if I could handle caring for more than one newborns and of course I can. He is going to be paying me to watch her normally I wouldn't accept the pay, but it will come in handy and he has a nice size inheritance. I will be handling both the households and it will be difficult. But Ray told me to hire someone to help me.

We have people moving into the Steele estate moving vans have arrived and it didn't take long until they were leaving. I watch as two men and a small child walk around the perimeter of the estate checking the stone and fencing around the property. They come back and go back inside the gate and check the intercom box on the drive. We just got back from picking up two newborn babies that were abandoned at the hospital on the east coast. They were triplets, but someone else had the other one. The hospital was updating everything and a number of errors were made and they weren't able to keep trainees from making errors. A few things happened all at once. Tia and Mia were released to us and the third girl was sent home with someone else. They had no idea who has her now. Both girls are identical big blue eyes and brown curly hair. You can tell we adopted all our children. None of them look like us. Elliott has Green eyes and curly blonde hair and Christian has bright blue eyes until he is mad and then they change colors. His hair has a reddish cast to it. Carrick and I both have sandy colored hair and pale blue eyes.

Looks like the Steele home has finally been moved into. Wonder if it is their son from the military? Grace says she saw two men pushing strollers along with a small boy. They walked the perimeter of the estate checking on the fence and intercom. We might invite them over soon Grace says quietly. Mia and Tia are sleeping quietly as Christian and Elliott arrive home from school.
