"Attention passengers, Flight A167 is ready to land in Udaipur. Please fasten your seatbelts and switch off your phones till the landing."
Akshara felt someone shaking her lightly, and she woke up in a jerk. She looked over her right to see the air hostess looking at her apologetically.
"I'm sorry ma'am, the flight is going to land soon. Please adjust your seat and fasten the seat belt"
Akshara nodded in a daze and did as instructed. Gulping a few sips of water and rubbing her eyes, she looked around and saw everyone either freshening up or stretching in their seats, after-all a 15-hour long flight is too much for anyone.
Akshara thanked her lords that she had an aisle seat otherwise she would have to disturb the passengers every time she wanted to go to the washroom.
The flight landed in Udaipur and Akshara felt a familiar air as she walked out of the plane. The feeling of coming back to your country was nostalgic for her.
...
Akshara groaned as she tried to pick up her suitcase from the belt at the airport. Using her leg as a support, she tried again but failed miserably. She looked around to see if someone saw her.
She spotted a little boy, sitting in the luggage trolley, giggling at her failed attempts. Akshara turned red in embarrassment and closed her eyes to pray.
Oh, Kanhaji! Give me strength to pick up this damn bag, otherwise, I will be too embarrassed to even look at anyone. Look even that little boy is laughing at my miserable state!
As she tried to lift the bag again with all her strength, she find it extremely light as if someone else was picking it up. As soon as Akshara realized it, she looked to her right to see a young man helping her to put the bag in the trolley where her other bags were kept.
"You didn't have to...Thank you so much." Akshara politely thanked him.
"No need for the thanks. I saw how you were struggling so helped you. Maa says that we should always help people" Neil said while grinning.
She smiled in response and forwarded her hand to shake his.
"Akshara... so nice to meet you."
Neil held her hand and shook it.
"Neil... I'm glad I was able to help."
...
Akshara and Neil walked towards the exit, talking and laughing like they were two long-lost friends.
"No way! You saw that kid laughing at me and so you helped me?"
Neil rubbed the nape of his neck and grinned foolishly. Akshara rolled her eyes at his childish behaviour.
"So, you're new here in this city right? Let me show around you sometime?" Neil offered.
"Definitely! Let's exchange the numbers. Alright, I'll see you again Neil, now my taxi's here."
As soon as Akshara's taxi drove away, a luxurious car stopped in front of Neil. Neil grinned widely as he saw his favourite person getting out of the car.
"Bhai! I missed you"
Neil ran and hugged his brother tightly, he missed the warmth of his brother. Abhimanyu patted his back to calm him down.
"I missed you too, Nautanki! How was your flight?" Abhimanyu asked as he picked up his luggage to put in the car.
"Long but I was too excited to be back home Bhai that I didn't even realize when we landed in Udaipur. Two years without you guys have been too tough and lonely for me." As Neil was about to get emotional, Abhimanyu hit him lightly on his head.
"Stop crying, now you're back so forget about all that. Maa had made all your favourites today. Let's go, she must be waiting" Abhimanyu said and Neil got excited.
"Let's go, Let's go Bhai. Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Neil hurriedly got into the car and signalled Abhi to hurry up. Abhimanyu shook his head.
"Nautanki!"
