"Stupid! Idiot! Badtameez! Shameless.... Look at the mess she created."

Abhimanyu muttered as he picked up the lamp and the broken pieces of it from the ground.

Abhimanyu was having that bad day where everything was going wrong for him. In the morning, he got very late to the hospital because his bike was punctured on the way. Then one of the medical residents misdiagnosed a patient and he had to clear the mess. And now this stupid girl ruined his mood when he came back to have some quiet break in his cabin.

"Don't make me see you again or else..." He continued muttering when he heard Neil's voice from behind.

"What's got your panties in a twist, Bhai?" Neil asked as he barged inside his cabin and sat on Abhimanyu's swivel chair, swinging it to get in a comfortable position.

Abhimanyu rolled his eyes at the intruder and stood up to put the lamp on his desk. Abhimanyu laid down on his recliner, completely ignoring his brother. Neil looked horrified at Abhi.

"Bhai! Why are you ignoring me? What did I do now?"

"Shut up! Let me sleep" Abhimanyu grumbled.

"No, you're not sleeping. You were supposed to give me a tour of the hospital before I start my internship here, remember?" Neil said.

"Not now, Neil. I'm already tired of this shittiest day I'm having. It's not like you don't know your way around here. It's your damn hospital." Abhimanyu said keeping his arm on his eyes, to doze off for a few minutes.

"You promised Bhai! Also, I've been here before as the son of the owner, not as a medical intern. Tomorrow is my first day. I don't want to mess it up. Please Bhai!" Neil whined.

"Neil, if you don't stop whining, I'll throw you out of this cabin right now."

Neil was about to say something when Abhimanyu interrupted.

"I'll show you tomorrow morning before your shift starts. Now be quiet and let me rest."

Abhimanyu dozed off, finally having some peace on this hectic day. Neil pouted and started chatting with his new friend on his phone, keeping it on mute to not disturb his brother.

...

Akshara was sitting in a small, cute cafe right beside the hospital, having her favourite masala chai with some fresh-cut fries, when her phone pinged with a message. She opened it to find a message from Neil.

Hi, Akshara. How are you?

Hello Neil, I'm doing good. How about you?

So, settled in the new city?

How are you liking Udaipur so far?

Honestly, I haven't had time to explore the city.

I was busy preparing for a job interview, which was today.

Interview? How did it go?

Awesome! I got the job!!!!

Starting from tomorrow itself.

Wow, that's so cool.

I'm also starting my internship tomorrow.

That's great! Neil.

You know what Akshara, let's meet up somewhere

tonight to celebrate your success. What say?

Tonight? Neil, I'm not too sure...

Please na Akshara, for me...

your only best friend here?

Fine, just because I can see you pouting while saying that.

You decide the place and text me.

Done! See you tonight!

See you!

"An outing doesn't sound bad. At least, I would be able to relax before joining the Birla Hospital" Akshara said to herself.

...

"Why the hell are you grinning like a fool, looking at your phone like that?" Abhimanyu asked as he woke up from his nap. Neil looked up at him like he has grown two heads.

"Bhai! Your nap was at most 10 minutes, and you woke up so soon?"

"I usually need a few minutes to rest. You tell me, what's in that phone making you so happy?" Abhimanyu asked, stretching his body to relieve fatigue.

"I made a new friend, Bhai. And I'm meeting her tonight..." Neil stopped for a second and looked up at Abhimanyu, while Abhimanyu raised his eyebrow.

"What?"

"You know what Bhai! You should join us as well. You'll like her company. She's just awesome." Neil bragged about Akshara and Abhimanyu rolled his eyes.

"I'm not interested in meeting your friend. And too bad, I have surgery tonight." Abhimanyu said, wearing his white coat over his clothes.

"What Bhai! You should live a life outside of this hospital as well. You hardly have any friends. At this rate, you'll never have a girlfriend." Neil grumbled and Abhimanyu scoffed.

"Good news for me then, I don't want one. I'm not listening to you talk about stupid things anymore. I have to take rounds of the ICU, Bye." Abhimanyu rubbed Neil's head and went back to his duty.

"What a boring man!" Neil huffed and left the cabin as well.
