-Maddy-
When I woke up it was around noon. Wow I didn't sleep long. There was a knock on my door. "Come in," I said. Amanda walked in. "Hey, Maddy wanna go to the beach with me? Maybe get some lunch?" she asked. "That's sounds nice. Let me just grab a quick shower and get ready," I said. She nodded and left. I undressed myself and climbed into a shower. When I finished I wrapped my body in a towel and went to my suitcase. When I opened the bag a picture frame fell out. I picked it up to see a picture of Luke and I. I smiled holding back my tears and of course one escaped and landed on the picture. I took the picture and sat it next to my bed. I changed into a red polka dot bikini then put on a pair of jean shorts and a All Time Low crop top over my swim suit. I slipped on my black flip flops and went downstairs. "Here's a towel," Amanda said throwing a red towel at me. I laughed, "Why, thank you."
We went down to the beach and grabbed lunch at this nice little restaurant, right on the beach. "You coming in the water with me?" Amanda asked. "Nah, I'm going to try to tan a little," I said laying my towel down. "Suit yourself," she said as she ran towards the water. When I was about to sit down someone yelled, "Watch out!" Next thing I knew I was tackled down and a volleyball went flying by barely missing me. "I'm so sorry!" she said. I laughed, "Calm down, it's okay."
"Okay good. I'm Ava by the way," she said. "Maddy," I said shaking her hand. "Wanna come play some volleyball?" Ava asked. "Sure," I said shrugging. "So how long have you lived here?" Ava asked as we made our way to the volleyball net. "Actually, I just moved here from Australia," I said looking down. "Really? Why here of all places?" she asked looking at me. "It wasn't my choice... it's kind of a long story," I said looking at Ava.
"We got time, but you don't have to tell me," Ava said. "Actually, that would be nice. I need someone I can rant to," I said kind of chuckling. "Well, then it's settled. Let's go chat by the water," Ava said pointing towards the water. So, we sat down and I pretty much told her my whole life story. It was nice to get all that stuff off my chest. "Wow, that's just awful," she said gasping. "Yeah, it's not the greatest," I said. "Hey, listen to me for a sec. If you ever need someone I'll be here for you. Ever need a place to crash or just someone to talk to I'm here," Ava said smiling. "Thanks, Ava," I said as I pulled her into a hug.
"I better go find my cousin don't want her to worry about me, but, hey, let me give you my number," I said as I pulled out my phone. Ava pulled out her's as well. We swapped numbers and went our separate ways. "There you are!" Amanda yelled her body wet from the water. "My mom wants us to get home and get ready to go out for dinner," she said. I nodded.
-Luke-
I hardly slept a wink last night, so I worked on some songs. I glanced at the clock when I finished the second song. The clock read 4 a.m. I rubbed my eyes that were being sleep deprived. I blinked away the tears that were forming in my eyes. A picture frame on my dresser caught my eye. It was a picture of me and Maddy. I walked over to it picking it up.
Maddy had written on it saying, "I love you forever and always, love Maddy". For some reason anger filled into me and I threw the picture shattering it. I stood there blinking for a second and fell to my knees. "I'm sorry..." I mumbled. I crawled over to the picture frame picking up the broken pieces as I kept mumbling "I'm sorry". What is wrong with me?
