Chapter 8~ "Battle of the bands"

-Luke-

"Okay, guys, today is the day," I said. "What time do we have to be there?" Ashton asked. "Well we go on last at 11," I said, "It starts at 8 though." Ashton nodded.

| Maddy's House |

-Maddy-

"Nicole, do you want to go to Battle of the Bands with me tonight?" I asked. "Yeah! I heard that Five Seconds of Summer are playing there!" she said. "Wait, isn't that Luke and Ashton's band?" I asked. "Yeah," she said. "Perfect," I said smiling. "Are you and Blake dating still? Cause I saw him with Ashley last night," she said. "What?" I asked. "Oh, so you don't know," she said. I was fighting back the tears. "W-what were they doing when you saw them?" I asked afraid of the answer. "They were kissing, Maddy, I'm so sorry," Nicole said. "I- I will talk to you later, Nicole, meet me outside my house at 7 and make no noise," I said. "Okay, I'm sorry again Maddy," she said hanging up.

When I hung up with Nicole I called Blake a girl answering. "Hello?" she said. "W-who is this?" I asked. "It's Ashley," she said, "Who is this?" "Maddy, Blake's girlfriend!" I yelled. So it was true. "Oh, great timing Maddy! Blake's mine now," she said. I heard a guy voice in the back ground. "Who's on the phone, babe?" it asked. "Oh, you know just your now ex-girlfriend, Maddy!" she yelled.

"Maddy? Give me the phone, Ashley," Blake said. Once he got on the phone I said, "So it is true! You're cheating on me, Blake!" "Now, babe, calm down," he said. With tears in my eyes I yelled, "Me calm down? You're the one cheating on me! Blake... We are done!" I hung up the phone and threw it on my bed. I backed up and put my back on a wall. I slid down it and cried.

| few hours later |

Nicole picked me up at seven, at my house. I was not about to let this whole Blake thing get to me. I'm just gonna hang out with Nicole and have fun. Each band played 3 songs each. I was looking around when I spotted Luke. He looked towards me and smiled. I waved to him, him waving back.

-Luke-

I was looking around the club when I spotted Maddy. I smiled at her. She waved at me and I waved back. I was surprised to see that Blake wasn't with her. "Did you hear about Maddy and Blake?" Michael asked. "No what happened?" I asked. "He cheated on her with Ashley Johnson and she broke up with him," Calum said. "Interesting," I said smirking.

When it was our turn we ran onto the stage. "Hello, everyone I'm Luke, this is Michael, Calum, and that's Ashton and we are Five Seconds of Summer!" I yelled. We started off with Don't Stop, then played Unpredictable, and ended with Good Girls. When the chorus came around I looked at Maddy. She had her fist in the air and was swaying to the music.

We all sang, "This is what she told me the day I caught em'. She said to me forget what you thought cause good girls are bad girls who haven't been caught. So just turn around and forget what you saw cause' good girls are bad girls who haven't been caught!"

Everyone cheered and danced to the music. So this is what it feels like play in front of people, on a stage, other than just in my garage. When we finished everyone cheered. "Okay, in this envelope we have the winning band name!" the announcer said. "And the winner is... Five Seconds of Summer!" he yelled. We all got into a group hug. "Now you got to tell us where did you get the idea for that song!" he yelled. "I just want to say a big thanks to my best friend," I said smirking towards Maddy. I saw Maddy's face turn red with anger as she stormed away. "Maddy wait!" I yelled after her.
