Faith's pov

Even though we just arrived, I already dislike this place. I couldn't help but look at the scene before me, I've never seen so much Ash in my lifetime and it doesn't help much when I saw a worm not too far away. I watched on as War used his Chronospheres ability and made it safely to the pathway and when it was my turn, I flow across rather than going by foot cause I'm not going anywhere near the ashes of the dead. And just when the time had reverted back to normal I've made it to the pathway and with a worm who was so close to eating me.

"Samael wasn't kidding about those worms! And the Stygian's supposed to be the mean one," said the Watcher as he appeared and looked at the younger ones.

"Thanks for that lovely reminder," I said to him before vanishing, while I and War continued on, but it wouldn't be easy. The more we moved forward, demons seemed to appear; which would make sense since the Ashlands is like their go-to place for fun. Not to mention the possessed members of the Hellguard showed up as well. And to top it all off, avoided the worms. Which we seemed to be constantly getting closer to, the next room that we arrived at has proven that.

"Oh heavens," I said to myself while looking out at the large open space before us. Much like the rest of the land, it was covered with ash, dust and a worm. The only thing that can be used to help us would be the wooded towers with an open safe space underneath. War could easily make it over okay but I don't think I would be so lucky. Then suddenly I was taken down from the air by War and being held securely in his hold, which honestly took me by surprise.

"W-War! What are you doing?!"

"You don't want to walk across and you wouldn't make it over in the air. So carrying you is the only option."

"But am I a bit heavy to you?"

"No, you barely weigh anything to me."

"Well yes, I guess I am light but-"

"Faith, this isn't the first time for me to hold you like this. So let me do this. Besides, I rather have you with me than be away," he said to me as his deep voice was soft, yet blunt with honesty. And he wasn't wrong, this isn't the first time he hold me like this and if it's the only option then so be it.

"Okay, but be careful."

Nothing else was said after that and War made his way across to each tower, one after the other. And I must say that it was a very cut close; the worm always seemed to be closer with each step he took. And then we finally made it to safety by entering inside a carved-out tunnel, knowing that we are safe now, War let me go. As I gave him my thanks, more demons have appeared. One was even carrying a gun like weapon and since there are so many of them, War has directly told me that I should leave this to him, and started using the gun weapon back at them. Once they were dealt with we have made it to another large open area, and when we entered It was then that I realized that we will have to fight for our lives.

"The arena," I said to myself while my blood felt like it was freezer over as the onlookers of demons watches us, hoping for our death. Then one of the gates have opened and out came a possessed wingless member of the Hellguard. Only this time, he was riding on a grey yet dead horse. Which also leaves War a slight disadvantage.

"Bury him!"

"Rip off her wings!"

"This is a bit unfair."

"Be ready Faith!" War said to me as we prepare ourselves for the battle and it wasn't an easy one. When you are fighting against an enemy who is on a horse and trying to keep up with it wasn't going to be an option, so we had no other choice but to stay where we are and let the rider come to us, but as the fight went on it gave us much of a challenge by summing the onlookers into the arena. It was brutal since it was a two against the whole army but in the end, we managed to get there and War killed the rider. However, it did not stop there. Two more of them have entered into the death ring along with some demons, and once they were killed off more of the onlookers have jumped in, in hopes to slay us both. Luckily that didn't last long as War destroyed them by entering into his rage form. Though that didn't mean that it was over as a new challenger entered but I wasn't prepared for what I saw.

"War isn't that..." I said to him as he turned his attention to what I was looking at. It was a demon wearing black and red armour and it to was on a horse, but it was that alone that shocked me. It was a black large horse that has a steel silver saddle; with red fiery eyes, red markings and fire running up its legs. How is he here? Why is he here of all places?!

"You disappoint me, Horseman. You and the angel look quite small from up here," said the demon as he taunted us. I may not know what goes through War's head but I just know for a fact that he wasn't happy as a demon was on his horse.

"You can look me in the eye when I kill you."

"Let's see how you fare, Horseman and angel, with only two legs and a pair of wings to carry you."

And then the battle began but it certainly wasn't an easy one since neither of us wanted to hurt Ruin, but we made sure that every opening counted which then led to War finally knocking him off his horse. It now became a fair fight between the two, even though the demon was supposed to be the champion, War still managed to beat him. Starting with slicing off his legs and impaling him with his sword; showing at he had won. However, it didn't end there as Ruin went on a rampage and started attacking us, mostly War. And since he didn't want to hurt him, he just took it each hit and impact, which is part of the plan that he made. Even though I trust what he's doing, I still couldn't help but to worry over him.

"Are you okay War?"

"What do you think you're doing? That thing's lost its mind! Kill it!" Watcher said as he appeared next to War. To him killing the horse would be an easy option but that wasn't the case for War, he just can't kill something that he shares a bond with. And yet no matter how much he gets hurt by Ruin, he still wouldn't fight back. Watcher however was getting fed up with what was happening.

"Enough I said! Finish it!"

"It's not that simple Watcher! We know this horse."

"Ruin...I won't fight you," said War as he shoved his sword into the ground and holds his stare with his horse, in hopes to gain its trust once more.

"You fool! I order you to break that nag!"

"And if I refuse, you'll kill me? I'll take my chances."

And then just after War said that Ruin charged at him again, while he just stood there; the Watcher was expecting him to be struck again but this time he went right through him. War turned his attention back to his horse while I got up close to him.

"Hello again Ruin, you remember me," I asked him as he just dug up the ground slightly with his hoof. I may not understand his emotions but I can tell that was a yes; It's something that I could never explain but for some reason, he took a likening to me when me and War first met and to this day he's still a softy towards me. Then suddenly I started to feel emotional and hugged him by the neck.

"You must have been through a lot, haven't you boy. I'm so sorry it took us so long to get here, but we're here now. Your safe."

Then without a second thought War got on Ruins back while hosting me up with him and sitting me down behind him, just like the old time. This however only angered the demons as they all jumped into the arena and comes towards us.

"Are you not entertained?!" Watcher said as almost in a taunting way to the demons before disappearing again. War picked his weapon back up from the ground and charged at them. At this point, I don't really care that much about them anymore; now knowing that Ruin is safe and is reunited with War.
