War's pov

"War! Are you and the angel here to play executioner?" Said the deep and familiar voice, then a reddish demon appeared in front of us with large wings and horns. Everything about this demon just screams of power, even with his attire, yet it's almost ironic that he was imprisoned.

"They should have sent all four of you. And now they are sending out angels to kill me."

"We have no interest in killing you, Samael."

"And that's the truth. We only came here to ask for some help."

"Ha! The Destroyer? He's beyond your reach. Beyond mine."

"Has prison made you a coward?" I said to him with a slight mock in my tone while he roared in my face with anger. I've stood my ground and showed no fear, Faith on the other became startled and held my arm tightly, she may have changed a lot but there are still limits, facing a demon ruler like him was one of them. I've been aware of Samael for as long as I could remember but never in those years has he ever held back on something; he is a powerful ruler yet he is being chained down by the Destroyer. He must have sensed that I was right as he halt his roar; if there's one thing he wants is to gain back his power.

"Perhaps there is a way...But, you will need to get inside the Destroyer spire."

"What must we do in order to get inside," Faith asked him as she stepped forward.

"The Tower is guarded by four of his Chosen. Bring me their Hearts and ask me no more questions, my reasons for helping you both are my own."

"Where can I find these Guardians?" I asked him.

"First, seek the Twilight Cathedral, where the Bat Queen Tiamat has gone to roost. The whole of her domain is a blistered inferno. By land, you unlike your angel will never reach it. Find the high ground with this..." Samael said as he gave me a pair of shadowy wings.

"And bring me her still-beating heart!" And those last words, he vanished into the portal on the ground.

"I've always heard stories about Samael, but I never thought I would end up meeting him. And of all places, why the cathedral first."

"You know where it is Faith," I asked her.

"Yea, I've been once while you were gone and since Tiamat was taking over the area, I couldn't stay there any longer."

"Then perhaps you could lead me there."

"I don't see why not. Just be careful War, there is a reason why you were given wings," she said as she lifted herself off the ground with her wings and began to lead me towards the cathedral
After traversing our way through tunnels and caves, we have made it to an large opened space, with trees and gravestones. While killing off large bats, demons and the undead, we came across another Gate and without wasting any time I blew the horn and awake it and stared down at us.

"Hmmmm..."

"I have come for the Destroyer."

"My brothers spoke of your coming. But, a powerful curse holds me now. I cannot help you."

"Any curse can be broken," Faith said to the Gate.

"Yes...perhaps...These servants of the Destroyer walk under within the Realm of Shadow. By their blood we are bound, by their blood shall we be free."

"The Realm of Shadow, unfortunately, I don't hold that kind of power to enter. War?"

"I can no longer move within the Shadow Realm. Much of my power has left me," I said as I turn my attention away in shame and anger.

"You need not enter it! I will grant you the power to see into the accursed realm, for a time. But, to what end? What hope have we now against the Destroyer foul sorcery?" The Gate asked me as I draw out my blade.

"Hope will not bring you freedom."

"Yes..."

"I'll return Faith, you have my word," I said to the angel when I suddenly felt a rush of a familiar power entered into to me, then the surroundings and my vision began to change, thus entering the Shadow Realm.
