Chapter 23 : Cheer up

"Why so down??" Kazuha leaned against the railing beside me, he was propping his head up with his hands and he was looking at me with a slight smile.
"I don't know, I guess i'm just sad we are leaving so soon." I sighed and looked at the direction where Inazuma was. Kazuha let out a breathy laugh and grabbed my chin, pulling my face to face him and make eye contact. I could feel my face burning a bright red. He just stared at me for a short moment before laughing a bit.
"Cheer up Y/n, The festival in Liyue will be beautiful and There will be plenty of people there for you to meet. I think you'll really enjoy it."
Kazuha released my face, I quickly looked away in embarrassment while he laughed under his breath.
"I like how the waves reflect off of your (e/c) eyes." "What?" My face kept getting brighter with each word this man said.
Kazuha laughed, "you heard me. I like how the ocean waves reflect off of your (e/c) eyes, Y/n"
"why are you saying this to me?"
I could feel the butterflies in my stomach as Kazuha's words were on repeat in my head.
"Just trying to cheer you up. But it seems like you don't like my compliments" Kazuha joked and acted like he was hurt,
"no no,, i do like your compliments-"
Kazuha cut me off, "oh really?"
Kazuha kept teasing me, "wait no- i uhh,, nevermind."
Kazuha laughed as I embarrassed myself.
"Okay but for real, cheer up Y/n. We will most likely find ourselves back at Inazuma for some reason. Plus you have me with you so you aren't lonely."
"Yeah,, I guess you're right,, but what are we supposed to do when we are on this ship with no land near us for miles?"
"Well, we had no problem finding something to do on the way here, perhaps you're just being impatient"
"Yeah yeah, we already established I'm impatient but still." I rolled my eyes, letting out a grown before slouching down against the railing, Falling onto my knees, turning over, and sitting down on the deck.
"Y/n relax, we will be in Liyue before you know it. Afterall, the voyage back always feels as if it flys by way faster than the journey there."
"I guess so,,"
By now sunset wasn't far at all, but I still couldn't help but feel boredom. I slouched down more until I was completely laying on the deck, facing the sky and staring at the clouds. Kazuha looked down at me on the floor and tilted his head in confusion,
"Y/n, what are you doing?"
"Watching the clouds."
"I see,,"
Kazuha bent down until he was sitting, and soon joined me on the floor of the deck while laying down. I could feel Kazuha's ruby eyes on me while I gazed at the clouds, I looked over at Kazuha and He gave me a smile while I stared at him in confusion,
"I never really understood the concept of cloud watching, but it wouldn't hurt to keep you company while you do so."
I smiled back at him and continued my cloud watching as sunset was nearing.
(A/N) I literally had no idea what to do for this chapter but throw dialogue in there but uh i hope you enjoyed. I'm probably going to try and update my Xingqiu X Reader today.
