The time for Antonio to get his gift finally came. Sophia waited on the side watching everyone.

Lots of people avoided her gaze and she sighed watching the curtain. The curtain opened revealing Antonio. He looks terrified and Sophia felt bad for him.

The rest of the town couldn't tell and clapped and cheered for him. He looked around like a scared sheep and looked over to Mirabel holding out his hand.

Sophia couldn't tell what was happening and whispered over to Dolores. "Hey what's wrong?" Dolores whispered back, "Antonio is too scared to go up by himself. He wants Mirabel to go up with him."

Sophia nodded and watched as Mirabel held her cousins hand and walked him up the stairs to his door. Alma shook off the initial shock and continued with the ceremony.

Antonio reached for his door as everyone stared in anticipation. Sophia could tell her Abuela looked terrified. Like if it didn't work the world would end.

Luckily for Antonio it did work and his door began to glow. A toucan landed on his arm.

Antonio nodded, "Uh huh I understand you, of course they can come."

After he said that the toucan screeched and several animals came running in towards his door.

Everyone went inside of his room to see a beautiful tree and lots of places for the animals and Antonio to be. Antonio was lifted up by a jaguar and began to ride it around his room.

Alma and the rest of the family was very excited and took a picture together. Sophia and Mirabel weren't in it.

Mirabel left the room along with Sophia.

(If you want you can play, still waiting on a miracle. Nothing is different. Sophia is just sitting on the roof not paying any attention to Mirabel.)

The house began to shake startling Sophia. She looked down and saw several cracks everywhere and the candle almost going out.

Mirabel also saw it and ran into the party screaming that the house was in danger. Alma came out and all of the cracks were gone.

Sophia jumped down confused. The cracks were just there. She looked away for a second and now they were gone.

Alma silenced Mirabel saying nothing was wrong and that the drinks were strong. This infuriated Sophia.

"There were cracks everywhere, I saw them too. Also you can't say it's us being drunk. We aren't even old enough to drink."

Alma looked over at Sophia sternly and whispered under her breath. "We'll talk about this later."

Sophia shook her head not calming down, she definitely has her mother's temper. "Oh no we aren't done. Please stop pretending everything is fine. I saw how you stared at Antonio as he was opening his door. Everything is far from fine. And you know it."

Alma was losing her patience and yelled at Sophia. "Shut up Bruno!"

Everyone gasped stunned, Alma the most of all. Sophia raised her eyes in shock. Before Alma could react Sophia took off her gloves and touched Alma.

She looked through everything holding on tight. Finally she let go and glared at Alma. "I am not my papa, none of this is my fault. And none of this is his fault."

Alma didn't yell this time but her voice was stern with anger. "Go to your room. I'll deal with you later." Sophia didn't protest and went to her room slamming the door.

Alma smiled and turned to the townsfolk. "Like I said there is nothing wrong. Please music everyone!"

Agustín started playing the piano again and everyone went back to partying completely forgetting the incident that just transpired.

Mirabel got her hand healed and went to her room thinking about what just happened.

(Before Mirabel hears Alma talking to pedro)

Sophia had enough time to calm down and think rationally before heading to her Abuela's room.

Alma called Sophia into her room and Sophia went inside. "Sophia how much did you see?"

Sophia didn't say anything she didn't want to. Sophia sighed, "Abuela you need help. I know I'm not the one who can give it to you. But you need help. Or else we will all break."

Alma looked at Sophia confused. "I'm not mad at you Abuela. Even though I should be. All I can feel for you is sadness and pity."

Sophia hugged her Abuela, "please talk to someone. Anyone, before it's too late."

Sophia left the room and went back to her room. She did the best she could, her Abuela has so much pain and she's been keeping it inside so long she's been hurting those she cares about. She's suffocating them. But she's to stubborn and blind to see it.

Sophia sighed going into a restless sleep. Hoping her words did her Abuela a little good. Hoping it isn't too late.
