A Certain Boy in a Valkyrie Academy (Honkai Impact 3 Fanfiction)

Prologue

It's supposed to a nice clear and sunny weather today... And yet the skies above were covered by swirling dark clouds as they let out arcs of purple lighting. Huge waves formed on the sea below as it rocked the ship violently.

[Warning! Warning! A large energy of Honkai energy has been detected! Please evacuate the deck immediately! Repeat...]

The speakers issued a warning as people scrambled to get inside.

It was then that monsters covered in hard white exoskeletons appeared from the clouds above and the sea below as they closed into the ship.

These monsters collectively called, the Honkai Beasts, were formed by the excess condensation of a powerful energy called the Honkai.

Even to this day, it still baffles scientists how these monsters were exactly formed. Extensive research has been done on them but it only managed to scratch the surface. That said, only one thing that's definite with them, they were hostile against the human race.

Since the ship's main purpose was to transport passengers, it had limited defense mechanisms installed. It tried to fight back the incoming swarm of Honkai Beast but it was inevitable that some were able to pass through.

One Honkai Beast landed on the deck as a nearby passenger stumbled and fell to the floor. When she noticed the raised arm of the monster, the face of the passenger paled. She closed her eyes in fear. However, she never felt any pain no matter how long she waited.

As she slowly opened her eyes, what met her eyes wasn't the Honkai Beast but a young woman with a sword coated in purple blood. She moved her eyes to the side and immediately yelped when she noticed the sliced-up Honkai Beast.

The young woman, who killed the Honkai Beast, was one of the Valkyries. They were girls who were specially trained to fight against the Honkai Beast.

With the help of Honkai energy through the use of a special brand called stigmata, along with the combination of their battlesuits, they can display superhuman feats capable of going toe to toe with the monsters.

"Are you alright?" The Valkyrie asked and reached out her hand to the fallen passenger.

"Mn" the passenger nodded her head meekly as she grabbed the Valkyrie's hand. She was then pulled up so she could stand.

But right after helping the passenger stand up, the Valkyrie suddenly turned around. She raised her sword as it collided with a white blur, producing sparks. With its charge interrupted, the culprit was revealed to be another type of Honkai Beast.

"Move now!" The armed young woman shouted to the passenger. "Don't worry and leave the Honkai to us!"

The passenger nodded and quickly ran away from the place. The Valkyrie had a contest of strength with the Honkai Beast as she slowly slid backward.

Gritting her teeth, the Valkyrie tried her best to push the monster back. Her eyes began to lit up, activating her stigmata as her body slowly got covered in a yellow aura.

"Don't push your luck!" The Valkyrie shouted as she successfully pushed the Honkai Beast away.

Using the opportunity while the Honkai Beast was still recovering, the Valkyrie immediately raised her sword and sliced the Honkai Beast in two.

"Are you alright, Mina-chi?" A concerned voice of the Valkyrie's teammate came out from her earpiece.

"Yeah, this much is nothing." The Valkyrie, Mina, answered while wiping the blood of the Honkai Beast that got splashed on her face. "How's the situation, Racheal?"

"About 80 percent had already evacuated inside." Racheal replied as she fired a round with her sniper rifle right into the head of an incoming Honkai Beast. "Please wait a little before you can have your fun."

"Can't wait, this mission has been quite a bore. About time we have some action." Mina commented while putting her sword on her shoulder.

"I think Leader is the only one who thinks so." A different voice joined in over the radio. "And here I thought by talking this mission we could relax."

"Mn, I totally agree with you Sara-chan." Racheal replied. "Unfortunately, we have a battle junkie as a leader."

"Geez, will you stop that you two!" Mina protested as her teammates giggled.

While getting red in embarrassment, she noticed a lone black-haired young man. Despite the ongoing chaos, he was only standing by the rails as his emerald green eyes looked at the skies above.

Mina narrowed her eyes as she decided to approach the young man. "Excuse me, this is not the time to daydream."

Hearing the Valkyrie's voice, the young man snapped out of his trance and turned around to face her. "Ah, don't worry about me. I can defend myself."

Mina was doubtful of his words. Perhaps sensing this, the young man brought a card out of his pocket and presented it to the Valkyrie.

"Glynne Romero, Class 2 Chevalier." Mina read out its contents only to let out a scoff. "Sorry kiddo but babysitting is not part of our job here."

Chevalier, they are the male equivalent of Valkyries. Although, saying equivalent here was stretching it a bit. Unlike their female counterpart, males tend to have lesser compatibility with the stigmata. As such, they are generally weaker.

As Mina urged Glynne to evacuate, another flying Honkai Beast slipped through the barrage of bullets as it continued straight in their direction.

Mina hastily got to a stance but before she could raise her sword, she heard three gunfire beside her as one of the wings of the Honkai Beast got torn in half. Losing its balance, the Honkai Beast crashed unto the ship's deck.

The young man approached the fallen monster and planted his foot on its head. He then fired two bullets point blank, successfully neutralizing the Honkai Beast.

"Didn't I say I can defend myself?" The young man said and turned his attention back to the Valkyrie.

Mina immediately snapped from her stupor as she cleared her throat. "I-I see... then as long as you don't get in the way I won't bother you any longer."

"I'll keep that in mind." Glynne replied as the Valkyrie turned around and left the young man alone. He then leaned on the railings while reloading his handgun. "Well then, I guess I'll watch for now in case something goes wrong."

Alright, the time has finally come! Welcome to a new adventure, or rather, a Restart!
