It had been four days and no-one had seen Sirius. He hadn't left the Potters' spare room for anything. Food was put around the door for him, but he rarely touched it.

Sirius would lay in bed for hours on end and stare up at the ceiling. Sometimes he cried, sometimes, he felt like nothing in the world mattered anymore. Other times, he felt like the world was spinning and his chest was tight. He couldn't breathe, he could only think of his parents.

Sirius didn't speak to James, who was very worried about him.

"He just needs space, he'll come round, whatever happened was clearly very traumatic for him and he needs time alone," his mother would assure him.

But James knew Sirius. Something must be very wrong for Sirius to be distancing himself completely. Usually he at least told James what was going on. This time all James knew was that Sirius had run away from home, presumably because they'd cursed him or something, but he couldn't do anything about it.

James had tried to talk to him, he really had, he just didn't see the point in constantly going back when it was obvious Sirius wasn't in a talking mood.

After nearly a week of not seeing Sirius, knowing he was barely eating, or talking to anyone, James did the only thing left that made sense to him.

Get Remus here. Remus is good at talking to Sirius, he always listens more to Remus' voice assuring him that everything will be ok. Every time in the dorms it's always Remus to calm Sirius down after he'd had a nightmare.

So James sent Remus an owl.

Dear Moony,

Last week, Sirius showed up at my house. It was like midnight and he was soaked and covered in blood. He said he'd run away from his house and mum reckons she saw curse marks. He came in and had a cup of tea. I sat with him but we didn't really talk, and then he went up into the spare room. We haven't seen him since and it's been nearly a week.

I've tried to talk to him, you know, get him to come out, eat something, but he just ignores me. I don't really know what to say to him to be honest.

Remus I don't know what to do. He has barely eaten anything and he defiantly hasn't talked to anyone, or let mum make sure any physical injuries are ok. We need him out.

Remus please come here as soon as you can, there isn't much left of the holidays, just bring your stuff and you can kip on the sofa or something, and I'm sure Sirius would enjoy your company. He always listens to you, and you really have the knack of calming him down and stuff.

See you soon,

James

Remus POV:

I am finally drifting to sleep when I hear the tapping of an owl at my bedroom window.

I groan, sling my legs over my bed and walk towards the window, rubbing my eyes. I slide the window open and the owl swoops in and perches itself on my chest of drawers, where it sticks out it's leg so that I can untie the letter. James' handwriting is on the front. Whatever this is it better not be a prank.

I fumble with the strings of the letter, getting it off eventually, and the owl leaves and flies away into the early morning sky.

I slump back down on my bed and open the letter. My face falls as my eyes flit across the page. I bolt up in my bed and look around my messy room.

I grab some clean clothes out of the draw and hastily pull them on. I'm not staying at James's, there's a moon in 4 days, before we go back, so I need to come back home for that, so I stuff some things into my school bag and open the door.

I remember my parents. I grab a piece of parchment out of the junk draw, and scrawl a quick note telling them I'll be back soon and not to worry. It's about 6am so I probably wont be back before they wake.

I leave the house, shutting the door carefully behind me, and walk around the village until I find a shady corner somewhere, that I can apperate from.

Before long, I find a dark corner where no-one, even though the sky is still black, will be able to see me, and I apperate, thinking of the state I will find my friend in.

Author's note:

Hi! I hope you're enjoying the book so far even though it has no reads yet lmao. This chapter was kinda short, I'm not too keen on it, but I don't want to only publish this chapter this week becuase its kinda pointless, so it's currently Saturday, so this is kind of an extra like filler in chapter, there will still be a chapter on Monday if that makes sense. If your from the future carry on reading, I hope you enjoy the rest of the book.
