chapter eighteen: fuck that its actually chapter twenty

Hope has passed during the full moon, she was killed by a werewolf. Remus wakes up to this, obviously this kills him. He distances himself from everyone to grieve once he returns to school after the funeral (he's only off for a few days just pretend). On Remus' first night back, Sirius wakes up in the middle of the night, realises he is gone and uses the map to find him. Sirius finds him quietly crying at the top of the astronomy tower, and quietly sits next to him, putting an arm around him and being a shoulder to cry into. After a little bit, Remus calms down and the pair are just sitting. Remus opens up to Sirius about how he thinks it's his fault. He made Hope a target. Sirius tries to comfort him and assure him otherwise, but Remus doesn't believe him. He says he thinks he's just a pain as he makes other people seem bad, and Sirius says:

"Remus, I will love you until all the stars in the sky burn out."

The corners of Remus' mouth twitched, but his face still looked sad.

"Thats a lie, isn't it."

Sirius looked away for a second to think, staring at the stars he was named for.

"Yeah. I think you're right."

Remus lifted his head out of his arms to look at Sirius, who was still looking at the stars. Sirius turned his head to look at Remus.

"I'll love you after they burn out."

Remus looked back at the sky. "I love you too," He said, thickly and through tears.

Sirius didn't need any other response. He kissed Remus' hair and let him cry.

21:
they wake up in the tower and run back down to dorms remus (genuinely happy) laughing a bit. they meet james and peter (some kind of peter interaction??) they all go to breakfast, sirius zones out while james is force feeding remus and remembers he has to meet reg. he races off, james shouts at him where he's going and he says like "see you in potions" or some shit and meets reg, who scoulds him for being late. they go into an empty classroom. both boys have a an air of wanting a quick interaction, and reg goes like "they want me to sign up. mothers furious." he pulls out a note saying shit and sirius is like wtf no no no shit shit shit, and reg is like "idk what to do. i'm scared" and sirius is like "come with me and james don't go back to them for christmas" and he's like "no" and sirius is like "you don't actually believe it?!! and reg is like, "..." i'm so scared. and sirius just kind of looses it becuase reg didn't say no (he was terrorfied bless him) and sirius forgets about classes and storms up to dumbledore and like knocks but then bursts in and he's all like "to what do i owe this pleasure" and sirius is like "fuck off help reg" and dumbledore is a cock so he's like "no lol" and sirius gets very cross and yeah. it's 1:47 am please send help and please make me actually write the chapter I need to stop procrastinating

(I only have my planning notes for 20-21, idk what happened to the ones before that but the 21 one is what would've happened after chapter 20, but its my summary I wrote at 2am. I find the difference between the 2am notes of a chapter and the reasonable time notes really funny)
