The girl in the picture looked like Khushi. But seeing her so happy and comfortable with some other people in different phases of her life, Arnav was convinced about her being some other girl than Khushi.

But the conversation with Maruf made him fall into deep thought again.

Maya's way of explanation about the happenings with the pictures popped into his mind only to get him confused even more.

But her being hemophobic was also different from Khushi.

Something is missing. What is it?

Arnav got connecting all the happenings to reach a conclusion when Ema reached there with a tray in hand.

And he directly shot the question that was getting him restless, "Is she really Maya?"

Ema got somewhat taken aback at that question. She was not expecting something like this from Arnav.

Seeing her startled face, Arnav was about to say something again but right then a voice got into their hearing, "Arnav! What are you doing here?"

Both of them tilted their head to the direction of the voice only to find Nayeem standing there at the entrance.

He walked up to them.

“Yeah. Actually..” Arnav paused for a second not finding anything further to say.

“He came to drop Maya.” Ema completed it for him.

Nayeem was getting confused as well as angry but he tried to act normal, “Drop this time? From where?”

None of them answered. Hearing Nayeem’s voice, Maya also got near.

“Nayeem? When did you come?”

“You said you were in a taxi when I called. Then what is this? Care to explain?” Nayeem was looking straight at Maya.

Maya glanced at Arnav and Ema for once and then again turned to Nayeem, “Yeah. But..”

Nayeem narrowed his eyes at her expression.

Arnav was about to say something but Maya voiced out, “I lied. It’s just I didn’t want to make you angry over this silly thing. And I knew you would get out to reach me that moment itself but the weather was not good.”

Nayeem was about to say something but..

“You did the right thing, sweetie.” Ema’s voice got him shut.

Arnav didn’t get what actually was happening. The situation was telling a story of its own that Arnav was failing to figure out much to his disappointment.

Glancing at the wall clock, Maya spoke up, “Vabi, medicine time for Vai. You guys sit. I am going to give him the medicine.”

Ema nodded, “Okay.”

Maya was about to leave but Arnav’s voice got her stopped, “Can I see him?”

Nayeem spoke up wasting no more second, “Why do you want to see him? No need. You just sit here.”

Frowning at him, Ema spoke up, “What’s the problem here, Nayeem?” and then turning to Arnav, she continued, “You go with Maya. Zareef should also know who helped his dear sister.”

For some reason, Nayeem wanted that to happen the least but couldn’t get to say anything there in front of Ema and got thinking. Anyways he is now unable to talk.

So, it wouldn’t be any problem, right?

“Come.” Maya walked towards the room where Zareef was lying paralyzed.
