Chap_39. Can't Swim

After knowing from Ema about the friend whose wedding party, Nayeem and Maya went to attend, Mahin and Muhib along with the police, met him.

He couldn't help them pretty much as he only informed them about their attending his party, nothing else.

"Answer me damn it. Where is Maya?" the question was asked to Nayeem a hundred times but his lips were sealed.

Ridwan Rayan, a cop who was looking into the case got out of the interrogation custody slamming the door behind with a thud getting frustrated.

No matter however he had been trying for the last three days, Nayeem wasn't answering his question. 

"I love you, Maya. Will you marry me?" Nayeem asked as he knelt in front of Maya, holding up a velvet box where a sparkling ring was residing. 

Maya flashed a smile that was visible in her eyes as well as she nodded and replied, "Yes, I will." 

She held out her left hand and Nayeem slipped the ring in her finger.

"Done." Ema said after clicking some photos of them. Maya and Nayeem loved each other and as much as Zareef was happy for them, he couldn't help feeling sad as well as Maya was supposed to be gone from their life forever.

His mobile got ringing in his pocket only to get him out of his thoughts. Congratulating Ifran on his wedding and promising they all would attend, he cut off the line. 

Getting near, Maya asked him, "Who was on the line, Vai?"

"Ifran. He is getting married and invited us to the wedding."

"Ifran Vai! It's a piece of great news indeed. We all are going, right?"

"Of course." Nayeem joined them but because of some office work, Zareef decided to attend the reception party only and asked Nayeem and Maya to attend the wedding. Nayeem and Maya hesitated a little but when Zareef promised to be there, she agreed.

After the accident and Maya getting flown to the sea, the driver drove away at a great speed to avoid police, case and all. Nayeem stood there getting frozen for a few moments before his mind whispered, "Maya can't swim."

He hurried to the beach and got into the water as he called aloud for Maya. In the middle of the night, his voice echoed there but except for the sound of water flowing in the vast sea and his screams, there was no other sound. In a matter of moments, heavy rain and thunderstorm filled the air. 

In the morning as people were walking by the beach, saw him lying there senselessly. They got him to the hospital. When he regained his sense and the doctor asked him questions, he hurried out from there without answering.

Two days later

"Maya can't leave me." with just this one thing going on in his mind, Nayeem was still walking by the beach later at night when he saw Khushi walking to the beach. His face lit up immediately but when Arnav got into his sight alongside Khushi, he was mad. He studied her appearance. Except for her face and smile, nothing was the same. But still...

"She is mine." He said while gritting his teeth. There and then he was about to reach them but got stopped when he saw other people on the beach as well. He kept an eye on them as he sat at a distance. When he saw Khushi resting her head on Arnav's shoulder, he fisted his hand to control his anger.
