~Third Person's POV~
Tommy sobbed, clutching onto his father as if he would disappear at any moment. It was if years of tears and pain came out in one conversation... It was.. relieving?
Eventually, after several comforting words and "I'm sorry's" were exchanged, Tommy seemed slightly better. He stared off into the distance, clearly tired, however, the stubborn piglet wasn't going to give in to sleep. Phil (noticing this) picked up the tall teen who was startlingly light.
That was a red flag Phil would have to keep an eye on. .. Techno and Fundy watched quietly, not wanting to approach the pair as to not scare Tommy or make him uncomfortable.
"... Do you ever feel guilty..?" Fundy practically whispered, not pulling his eyes away from the father and son duo.
Techno glanced over at him, "Pardon..?"
"Do you ever feel guilty..? Like, that.. we.. I let him get hurt..?"
The piglin took a second look at Fundy, still processing how to respond, "I feel angry. Not guilty.."
He glanced away again for a second before continuing, "Look at him.. Did you specifically stand there and cause the injuries he has now? Did you kick him?"
Fundy looked back over at him, shocked and tried to hold his voice to a whisper, "No I would never!"
"Did you force Dream's hand as he attacked him?"
"No!"
"Okay, and did you force the L'Manbergian's into having to choose between a nation or a child who fought for the freedom that was at risk" Fundy began to catch on to what his uncle was trying to get at.
"No.." His ears lowered as he felt a lump form at the back of his throat.
"Did you watch Dream do that?" Techno made eye contact with Fundy this time.
"No... No, I didn't"
"Then we, and especially you, should not be feeling guilty, as we can't change the past. All we can feel is angry... Or sad... We have to turn that anger into energy for revenge, and the sadness... well... guess we just have to cry it out." Fundy felt tears prick his eyes as a strange weight was lifted from his shoulders.
Techno laid a firm hand on his shoulder as the young kit slowly span around and buried his face into the taller's chest. The older felt a strange sense of sympathy for the fox, an urge to step in for his brother as a 'guardian' figure... Regardless of the fact that the younger had, weeks before, dragged him to his supposed execution...
In a broken voice, he squeaked out, "I j-just... I feel so bad... I let him take Tommy... I let him take h-him!"
The piglin flinched slightly at the physical affection, not too sure how to react to the sudden hug. Not wanting the action to be awkward, Techno wrapped his arms gently back around Fundy. It was almost weird seeing Fundy like this. Although he wanted to be more weary around the fox, at the end of the day, he was a kid.
... At the end of the day, allot of the people here were young or naïve... or both...
Techno was quickly yanked out of his thoughts by Ghostbur, who floated in and (upon seeing his son crying) began to cry aswell, smoke rising from his cheeks as tears trailed down his face.
"Is he okay! H-Hey my little champion, don't c-cry... It's going to be okay.." The ghost tried his hardest to comfort him as Techno gave a soft smile.
"He's alright Ghostbur... Do you know what I think would help right now..?"
