Y/n woke up when the light of day touched her face through her window, e/c eyes fluttering open slowly.

She let out a long yawn, nestling deeper into her bed with a content little sigh. She eventually got up and got washed up as well as dressed before rushing outside to help her beloved Granny tend to the garden.

"Did you sleep well, dear?" Granny asked over breakfast as y/n feasted, a gentle smile on her face.

"Mhm! We've had lots of missions recently!" y/n exclaimed in between bites of food, "We're gonna have another real mission soon, I can already feel it!"

The little old lady chuckled, "Oho, you sound like you're having a lot of fun. I'm glad to hear that, y/n. Did you mark down your calendar?"

Y/n nodded, "Uh-huh! Now I know the next time it'll come!"

With that, y/n snarfed down the rest of her food before bidding her caretaker farewell and leaving the house in a hurry, her e/c eyes alight with excitement.

As she ran, she spotted a familiar head of gray hair and skidded to a halt with a look of surprise on her face.

"Oh! Kakashi-senseiii!!!! Over here!!!" y/n shouted, waving excitedly at her teacher from a distance away.

The Jonin spotted y/n and waved as well, taking his time as he walked over to join the excited oni.

"You're awfully late, aren't you?" he greeted as y/n began walking with him, her grin not once fading.

"I spent a lot of time helping Granny and she cooked a big breakfast too!" y/n explained then perked up, "Wait a minute, aren't you late too?! Don't try to call me out for being late when you're never on time either!"

"I got lost, you see. I expect you know the way to our agreed meeting spot though, correct?" Kakashi replied.

Y/n nodded with a, "Of course I do! This way!"

It was a couple of minutes before they made it to the bridge the team had agreed to meet at, finding that the other three members of the team were already there.

"There they are!" Sakura exclaimed upon spotting the duo, "Why are you late again, Kakashi-sensei?"

"I got lost today." was his excuse again before he gave the very proud looking y/n a pat on the head, "Y/n here just so happened to find me heading in the opposite direction."

"Hehe~!" y/n rested her hands on her hips with a proud little grin upon her face, "Good morning!"

"Kakashi-sensei! Kakashi-sensei!" Naruto practically teleported over to their teacher with bright eyes, "We've done a ton of easy missions recently! Aren't there any challenging missions for us to do?"

Yeah, no.

Y/n had a feeling that this was about Sasuke doing good on the missions and Naruto constantly being indebted to him.

No, y/n was sure of it.

They went on their mission which was at a lady's house where they were supposed to be tugging weeds.
