꧁𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙰𝚏𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚝𝚑꧂

F/n awoke in a dimly lit room, her body felt stiff and her head ached. She saw her arms leg and stomach were wrapped in bandages. She sat up and dangled her legs off the side of the bed and slowly got up.

When she did so, she felt a sharp pain shoot from her head to her toes. She groaned and took hold of the wall. She hobbled over to the door, opening it. Light poured into the room, it hurt F/n's eyes. When her eyes adjusted to the light she started walking down the hallway.

"F/n-Chan!" A voice called from behind her, it startled her and she stumbled back, loosing her balance and falling over. F/n groaned in pain. "Ah! I'm sorry!" Kiyo apologized and ran over to her. "You shouldn't be walking! You could open your stomach wound!" She lectured.

"I'm sorry.." F/n said, her voice was weak and raspy. She must've lost it when she screamed at the belt demon. "Where is he..." she asked. Kiyo frowned, "he's in a coma..I don't know how long it'll be"  Kiyo said.

F/n sighed, "I see.." F/n said, avoiding Kiyos gaze. "I have somthing to ask..did the clean up crew..find anything on Yui. Like a hair pin or jewelry?" F/n asked.

"Yes! They did actually. I can get you what they found if you want!" Kiyo said. F/n gave her a tiny smile and nodded. "Let's get you back to your room" Kiyo said, helping F/n up.

Kiyo walked her back to her room and laid her down into bed again, then she ran off to get something of Yuis. She came back with a flower hairpin, Yui always had a small bun in the back of her hair so that's where she wore it.

"Thank you Kiyo-Chan" F/n said and patted her on the head. "You're welcome F/n-Chan!" Kiyo said, "make sure to get lots of rest!". Kiyo closed the door to F/n's room.

F/n held the hair pin in her hand, tracing her thumb over its pattern. Tears brimmed her eyes, "Im sorry Yui...I'm sorry I couldn't protect you like I promised." F/n said softly.

F/n wiped her tears and slowly got up from her bed, sitting in front of the mirror. She had a huge scar on her face, she traced it with her fingers. Then she turned her attention to her hair. She brushed through it and took some scissors from the drawer. She decided to cut her hair short, kinda like Yuis.

She put a little bun in the back while leaving the rest down and put the hair pin in it. She sighed, looking at her battered body in the mirror. She mostly despised the scar on her face. Before her face was flawless, but now she had a huge scar right in the middle.

She looked around the room again, and spotted a window. She hobbled over to it and opened it. It was already night, the soft breeze was blowing against her face.

It had been a month since the battle, F/n was getting back to training of her own, Tanjiro was still in a coma. F/n never left her room, and when she did it was at night when no one could see her.

She trained during the night and slept during the day, sometimes sneaking into Tanjiros room and telling him everything on her mind. Even though he wasn't conscious, F/n felt like part of him was listening.

F/n put her hand on tanjiros, "I don't know how long I can't wait for you to wake up.." she said softly. She got out of her chair and kissed his forehead, silently leaving the room and going back to hers.

"F/n-Chan!" A voice said from outside her door, "you can't stay in there forever! When will you get back to slaying demons!". F/n looked at her uniform, it was hung up along with her haori. Her katana was leaning against the wall.

She walked over to her katana, taking it out of its sheath. She looked and the blade, turning it so she could see a little reflection.

"F/n-Chan? Are you alive in there?" Kiyo asked, knocking on the door. F/n sighed and walked over to the door, opening it. Kiyo sighed with relief, "thank the gods! Everyone's been really worried you know! You've gotten so pale, you need sunlight!" Kiyo lectured.

"I'm sorry Kiyo-Chan, I want to wait for him to wake up" F/n said. Kiyo huffed, "you cant wait forever! You have to get back out there at some point!" She said and walked away.

F/n shut her door again and sat on her bed, flopping onto her back. F/n felt someone at the door again, "Kanao?" F/n asked.

Kanao opened the door, "how'd you know it was me?" She asked, sitting down next to F/n. "I could feel your breathing pattern" F/n said flatly. Kanao giggled softly, "I forgot you had some otherworldly senses" she said, now flopping on her back like F/n.

"What's the real reason you came here, I know it's not to catch up with me" F/n said. Kanao sighed, "Kiyo said she wanted me to talk some sense into you". "I keep telling everyone I'm fine, I'll get back to slaying like normal soon enough" F/n said annoyed.

"You may keep telling people that, and you may have convinced yourself that you're perfectly fine, but you know I know you know that you're lying to yourself" Kanao told her. "If you need to talk I'm here, I promise".

F/n smiled, "I know, thank you" F/n said. "Of course" Kanao said, sitting up. "But seriously, if you don't get back to hardcore training I'll hurt you" she said with an evil looking smile.

"Once he wakes up.. i'll surely do that"
