Tanjiro walked F/n to the bench in the middle of the garden, sitting her down then sitting next to her. F/n took in deep breaths of air, feeling it from the tips of her toes to the top of her head. The cool breeze felt nice against her skin, Tanjiro had his hand over top of hers, caressing her hand with his thumb.
"I want to get back to training as soon as possible.." F/n said, finally breaking the silence.
Tanjiro looked at her like she was crazy, "What!? You can barely walk without help!"
F/n looked him in the eyes, "I know, but I need to get back to training, the only way to get my strength back is to work on myself!" She pleaded.
Tanjiro sighed in defeat, "I was kinda of hoping you wouldn't be able to walk again.." he admitted guiltily.
F/n's blood went cold, "What...Why..." she mumbled.
Tanjiro gripped her hand tighter, "So then I wouldn't have to watch you get hurt anymore.."
F/n felt something she'd never felt before, what was this feeling? Was Tanjiro the reason she felt this way? She didn't have words to describe it.
"I want to go back inside now." She muttered, standing up with struggle.
Tanjiro tried to aid her but she refused, "You should get some rest, you have to train tomorrow." She said with a tiny smile.
Tanjiro felt his heart ache, "Are you sure..?" He asked.
F/n nodded and waved him off, continuing to hobble towards the mansion. Making her way to her room, she locked the door behind her, sliding a dresser in front of it for good measure.
She sat down on the floor and began to meditate, like her grandfather used to show her. She used her breathing techniques to calm herself completely.
She meditated until the sun came up once again, she felt refreshed as she stood up. Her legs were still shaky, but not as much as they were last night.
This was the push she needed to start training again, she needed to do training herself, the type of training she went through with her grandfather.
F/n grabbed her uniform and haori, along with her katana. She put her hair up and put Yuis hairpin in as well. She grabbed a piece of paper and wrote a small message for anyone who came into her room.
If you're reading this, that means I've left. I don't know how long it took you to find it, but I'm safe. I need to continue training on my own, in my own way. I'm sorry for not saying formal goodbyes, but if I did I probably wouldn't have been able to leave. I'll be back when I feel it's time for me to come back. Again, im sorry, and if Tanjiros the one reading this, I love you.
- F/n
F/n sighed, placing the letter down on her bed and opening up the window above her bed, crawling out. Leaving during the day would be best, since everyone's out in pillar training no one would be around to see her, or stop her.
She used her breathing to ease her legs as she ran as fast as she could into the near by forest, stopping multiple times along the way to catch her breath.
Once the sun set, she decided she needed to rest. She began to meditate again, now that she was outside, the air felt clearer and she could focus better.
She breathed in and out, in and out, until the sun rose once again. Her legs felt even better, her grandfather had a special was of meditating, she was great full he taught it to her.
~"Tanjiro-San, can we see F/n yetttt!" Zenitsu whined, he handnt seen F/n since the entertainment district.
Tanjiro sighed, "I suppose, she'd be happy to see you, and you Insouke." Tanjiro said with one of his sweet smiles.
"Hell yeah! I finally get to fight her!" Inosuke declared, throwing his fists in the air.
"Her legs are bad, I don't know if you'll ever get the chance." Tanjiro said with a laugh.
Insouke huffed with disappointment, "Dammit." He mumbled.
"But it wouldn't hurt for her to have some company. Let's go!" Tanjiro said, running in the direction of the butterfly mansion. The two boys followed close behind him.
When they arrived, they caught their breath and walked in the direction of F/n's room. They weren't the only ones there, the butterfly girls and Aoi were at her door too.
"F/n-San! Open the door! You need to eat!" Aoi lectured, banging on F/n's door.
"She locked herself in again?" Tanjiro asked, walking up to the door.
Aoi sighed, "yes, I don't know why she does this. She needs to eat for her legs to heal." Aoi said.
"Lord Inosuke's got this! Don't worry ladies!" Inosuke declared, pushing them out of the way of the door.
He huffed before he ran towards the door, bashing it down.
"AHHHH! INOSUKE, YOU DUMBASS!" Zenitsu yelled, "WERE GONNA HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT!"
Inosuke waved him off, "Yeah yeah, where's F/n?" He asked, noticing the room was empty.
Tanjiro walking into F/n's room, she wasn't in there. Her bed was made and the window was open, letting in a breeze.
"W-Where is she.." Tanjiro asked shakily.
Inosuke looked back at the mess he created, "It looks like she slid this dresser to block the door, did she run away?" Inosuke asked.
Tanjiro shook his head, "there's no way, she wouldn't just leave us like that!" He argued. But there was no denying it, F/n was gone.
