F/n set off to go to this first village, based on what the crow told her there was a demon abducting young girls and F/n needed to find it and slay it. Even though she was excited, should couldn't help but feel afraid. The first demon she slayed that wasn't in the final selection, was able to evade her quick attack. She wondered if she was really as strong as she thought she was. No! What type of swordsman questions their power! She thought and slapped her forehead.
She took a deep breath in as she was nearing the village. She stopped running when she got to the bridge, how am I supposed to find a demon? She pondered. While she was thinking she bumped into someone, "forgive me I wasn't- Tanjiro?" She asked surprised. "F/n!" He said and gave her a big hug. "We have the same mission?" F/n asked, though she was very relieved. "Were you sent here to slay a demon that's been abducting young girls?" He asked, giving her a warm smile. F/n nodded. "Great! Let's stick together on this one" he said, grabbing her hand.
"How are we supposed to find this demon?" F/n asked as they walked through town. "Right there" Tanjiro said, pointing to a shabby looking man. "I've heard the towns people talking about someone named Kazumi. By the looks of it that's probably him" Tanjiro said. "He is giving off distressed vibrations, let's go talk to him" F/n said, dragging Tanjiro with her.
"Mr. Kazumi!" Tanjiro yelled after the shabby looking man. He turned around and faced her and Tanjiro. "If you don't mind, I'd like to hear your story! Is that alright?" Tanjiro asked. The man reluctantly nodded.
He led them to a walkway, "this is where Satoko vanished." He said, F/n could tell he was very distressed. "You may not believe me". "We do believe you!" Tanjiro said. Then Tanjiro got down on his knees with his nose to the ground. "What're you doing?" The man asked. The man looked at F/n with confusion. F/n just shrugged, giving him a just go with it kind of look. "There's a faint scent of a demon here, but it's too uneven to tell where it went" Tanjiro said finally getting up. "Let's go, I'll try my best to follow it" Tanjiro said, F/n nodded and followed him.
Tanjiro led them all over town, trying to pick up the scent trail. They were definitely given some odd looks, but F/n scared them off when she gave them one of her death stares. They all walked around following Tanjiro until sunset. "I want you to believe me, she really did vanish!" The man said distressingly.
F/n slapped the man's arm, "we do believe you, he's been trying to pick up the demons trace" she scowled. "It's okay F/n" Tanjiro said with a smile. "It sure is getting late though, shouldn't you get some rest and pick up again tomorrow" the man asked. "Those things are active during the night, this is our only chance." Tanjiro told him. Tanjiro sniffed the air, "I picked up a new scent in this area, it's gotta be somewhere near by!" He said. "Those things..don't tell me you're..you're seriously..".
Tanjiros eyes widened, and he bolted in the other direction. F/n understood and followed, "what's gotten into you all of a sudden!" The man asked running after the pair. "The scent just got stronger! The demons at large" Tanjiro yelled back. He grabbed F/n's hand and jumped up top a roof.
When they jumped down, Tanjiro stood in the middle of the alley he led them to. He took a deep breath in, then stabbed his sword into the ground. Black liquid bursted up, and Tanjiro reached into the hole it created. He pulled out a woman, and a demon unearthed its self. It looked annoyed more than anything.
"What the hell man! That woman's gonna go stale on me! Give her back!" The demon screeched. F/n drew her sword. Tanjiro got in a fighting stance, and went in for an attack. F/n stepped back and protected the woman. Right as Tanjiro was about to slash the demon, F/n felt the vibrations of two other demons from underground. F/n lunged and grabbed Tanjiro before the hands could grab him.
