The Kakushi looked at each other, but knew they weren't going to change his mind so they agreed. Tanjiro ran beside them all the way to the butterfly mansion, never taking his eyes off F/n for more than five minutes. He wanted to make sure she was doing alright the entire trip to the estate.

When they arrived, she was rushed to the lady Shinobu for examination. Tanjiro waited in the mess hall for hours until he got results.

"F/n-San will be out for a few days, or even weeks. That wound was left open for too long and she was on the verge of death. We needed to inspect carefully for infection, and will continue to do so." Shinobu said, sitting down next to Tanjiro. "I do have some bad news though.." She muttered.

Tanjiro looked at her, terrified of what she was going to say.

"F/n may not be able to walk when she heals, if the wound was infected it could've easily spread to her legs." Shinobu informed, wearing a guilty look on her face.

Tanjiro sighed, "maybe that's for the best..if she cant walk, she won't have to fight, and she won't get hurt again."

Shinobu nodded her head with a hum, "Is that what she wants? To stop fighting?" She asked.

"Probably not..but I don't think I can watch her continue to get hurt like this anymore, let alone not knowing if she's dead or not." Tanjiro muttered, scratching the back of his neck.

"We'll know in due time, try to heal up yourself. Get back to training, we'll take care of F/n for you." Shinobu said, standing up and giving Tanjiro a smile then walking off.

Tanjiro groaned, leaning back and looking up. "I don't know how much longer I cant watch this happen to you...F/n."

F/n groaned, the light in the room straining her eyes. She felt a throbbing pain at her side, and couldn't feel anything past her waist. Her eyes fluttered open, her eyesight blurry.

"W-Where..am..I.." she muttered, her voice raspy and dead.

A person was at her side now, she couldn't see for shit so they just looked like a blurry blob. Her ears were ringing and her mouth was dry.

"It's okay, you're safe F/n-Dono. The fights over..." someone muttered, putting their hand on hers.

"Who...who is t-that.." F/n asked, trying her best to make out a face.

The person sighed, holding her head up and slowly giving her a tiny sip of water.

"I'm not important, I'm here to take care of you and help you on your road to recovery. You have many injuries." They said, a hint of guilt in their voice.

"Where's..Tanjiro.." She asked desperately, he was the only person she wanted to see and hear right now.

F/n felt the person sit on the bed next to her, their back facing her. "He's out in pillar training...you've been out for a long while." They said.

"H-How long..!" F/n asked, trying to sit up.

"A few weeks." They responded.

F/n sighed, sitting up against her pillow, trying to ignore the throbbing pain in her side. "How bad was I injured..." She asked, her tone changing completely.

"Well, you've got a huge gash in your side, and a few broken bones. The gash was what we're most worried about.." They said.

"Why..? Why is it so bad?" F/n asked.

The person let out a heavy breath, slumping over. "It could effect your walking ability completely. Once you heal some more, we will determine if you'll ever be able to walk again."

F/n sighed, "I see...once Tanjiro has free time, tell him to come see me..please." F/n said, rolling over, closing her eyes once again.

Tanjiro collapsed onto the floor in exhaustion, panting and begging for water.

"TANJIRO-SANNNNN..!" Zenitsu cried, running to his side.

The stone pillar, Himejima Gyomei, poured water over his sweating body. Tanjiro shot up, his breathing slowing and sighed with relief.

"Thank you...Himejima-Sama..." He thanked, wearing a relived expression.

Gyomei nodded and walked off.

Zenitsu calmed down as well, "Have you heard anything on F/n yet..?" He asked hesitantly, not knowing if Tanjiro was sensitive to the topic.

Tanjiro sighed, pushing his hair back. "No..she's been out for weeks without response, and I've been in the dark about her condition, they seriously won't tell me anything, I don't know if it's because there's nothing to tell or if they're protecting me from the truth.." He admitted.

Zenitsu patted him on the back, "let's go get something to eat yeah? To clear our heads..?" Zenitsu asked, wearing a sympathetic smile.

Tanjiro chuckled and stood up, "Food sounds great."
