You turned on your side, feeling the plush mattress underneath you and the blankets on top of you. Paul was sitting on a chair that was next to the bed. His eyes opened, and you noticed that they weren't black. Making you think that you had been just seeing things before you got here.

"What happened?" you asked, as you swallowed. You didn't hit your head from what you could remember.

"You passed out. I caught you before you could hit your head. Put you in bed and I've been watching you ever since. Waiting for you to wake up. I was thinking about getting a healer in here but I just didn't want to leave you,"

"Demons have healers?"

"You are technically half demon or three-quarters from the amount of blood in your system. But even still we have healers for things just in case," he explained as he sat up in the chair.

"How long have I been out?" you ask, as you look past him and out the windows seeing the colors of what would be a setting sun.

"A bit. I checked your pulse and everything about you seemed to be fine. I would have definitely gotten a healer in here if you had hit your head," Paul said as there was a knock on the door before it opened up.

"Sorry , should I come back?" a woman said, stopping at the sight of you laying in bed and Paul sitting in the plush chair that was next to the bed. And you noticed that she had stopped to curtsy while having a tray in her hands.

"No, you may come in," he said, waving the woman in as he got up from the chair and fixing his suit as he leaned over and kissed the top of your head.

"I have a few things to tend to. I'll be back later, rest," he said before leaving the room. Just as the woman walked up to where you were laying on the bed and put the tray in front of you.

"Thought you might be hungry after having such a scare. Or well he did and said we should make something up for you," she said nodding towards the food as you looked down and immediately expected something other than solid food.

Liquid form came into your mind, not actual food.

There was a bowl full of soup and some bread with a pad of butter on the side and a glass of water. Definitely not what you were expecting when it came to food in hell. But what did you know about the place other than your expectations of it or even if it had been a real place before all this happened.

You took the spoon in your hand and tasted just a bit of the soup hesitantly due to the heat.

"Don't worry at all. The taster has everything from both your plates first before we send it out," the woman said encouragingly. Or at least it was supposed to be. Because the thing was that had not even come to mind. Someone possibly poisoning your food. Right about now you thought you needed a history book to go to the politics of royal life, since it seemed like you were plucked smack dab in the middle of it and you needed a refresher on what you would have to expect with this kind of life.

"Oh, no. It wasn't that. Just didn't want to burn my mouth," you said as you took another spoonful of the soup and ate it since that taster comment distracted you from actually being able to taste it.

"Wow, this is very good. Either that or I'm just really hungry," you said, taking the bread and dipping it into the soup.

"Well, I'll pass along your compliments back to the chef. Been awhile since he's had anyone to serve since..." she trailed off as you looked up at her and you said that she was wiping at her eyes with her apron and waving at her face.

"I'm sorry. I promised myself that I wouldn't get all worked up. But when we heard that he was coming back. And he had brought you along with him. And that you were pregnant. It was as if all our prayers had been answered,"

"Really?" you said as you stopped eating and took a sip of your water.

"Oh yes. He vanished years ago. Along with one of his second-in-commands as well. They looked everywhere for them here and out on earth. Who would've thought he would've conspired with that witch to leave him powerless," she said with a shake of her head.

"Oh you and me both. I thought I was in a dream or going crazy. Well, actually, when I woke up here I thought the same thing. This whole time since I found out about his existence in general has changed my life so much that I still have to stop and think about it," you said as she saw the woman smile at your words.

"Well, it's nice to see that he brought someone with him that seems to make him happy. He was out of his mind earlier trying to get the healer here, but she wouldn't come in since you didn't hit your head on anything. Anyone else he would've had them on the rake the second they defied him but not her. She put her foot down and told him to just let you rest. He was sitting in that chair the entire day waiting for you to wake up. Never seen him like that with anyone before except those that he would keep in confidence about things," she said, shaking her head.

"Gosh, I'm sorry. I'm just sitting here just musing on about things when I should leave you to eat your meal alone," she said as she moved away as you stopped her by grabbing her hand.

"No, stay. After everything I think it would be nice to talk to someone, or well you can talk. I'll just be eating," you said as she smiled and looked behind her before settling into your mattress more.

"Alright but if anyone asks, I came to also make you a bath," she said with a wink as you laughed, listening to her tell you more stories as you ate more of your dinner. Feeling less scared now that you had someone to talk to.
