You got into one of the looser dresses that Eric managed to find for you that had been in your closet in your chambers. After some arguing of course. You never liked the feeling of dresses, and didn't want to start wearing them now after so long.

Even if it was more befitting of your station. Or so Eric said. Which you popped back with the fact that you were nothing right now. Unless everyone saw you as Paul's official mistress. A human pregnant one that was slowly becoming more and more demon-esque with the amount of blood you were craving.

You rolled your eyes thinking about how old fashioned that sounded, befitting of your station, as you followed Eric out of your chambers. Realizing that the dark ominous hallways of the palace that you were residing in were a lot less dark and scary during the day.

Following him down the hallway, you walked passed the kitchen where you smelled an assortment of things coming from within.

And passed that was the library, which you had been in the previous evening running into Paul. Which was a different view as well during the day. At night you didn't get a chance to take in just how massive the library actually was. Two stories with what seemed to be all the books that you could imagine.
As well as more and more of those comfy chairs that were sparking a blush on your face as you walked passed the library thinking of how you sat in one of them the previous night drinking straight from Paul's neck.

"Like reading?" You heard Eric ask as he walked back to where you stood at the opening of the library peering inside of it. Looking specifically at the reading nook that was by one of the windows that had a view of one of the gardens.

"Well seeing it in the light of the day is different. I didn't think it was so big," you said as you walked in, your thoughts back to your wanting to know about royalty history, customs etc.

You started walking down the rows and rows of books, touching the golden titled spines trying to see if there would be any books about royalty history or even just history of this land you found yourself in.

"Looking for some particular? I can have someone come in here and grab anything that you need while I continue us along the tour," Eric said as you nodded.

"Yes, I have a nagging feeling that I need to brush up on my historical royal customs and traditions because of the position that I find myself in now. And maybe a little bit about the history of the place as well. I want to know more about this land," You say as you look over at Eric who simply nods.

"That can all be found. I'll pass the message along and they'll be in your chambers before we even get back there," Eric said as he stood alongside the door that you had walked through a moment ago.

"Alright but if there are some that are in Latin.." you joked as Eric smiled.

"If there are I can translate or well most likely he would want to read them to you actually," Eric pointed out.

"Yes yes I can see that happen for sure. Maybe I'll be able to pick up a little Latin as well," you replied with a smile as you followed right behind Eric.

"Let's go onto the next set of rooms. To start off with the great hall, which now that you have brought him back would be in use very soon," Eric said as he turned a corner and saw exactly what he was referring to.

Which was indeed a great hall. With a giant table lined with chairs that sat away from a giant throne chair.

"This is..."

"Yes, I know, they will be putting a chair next to his chair soon. Everyone is having to adjust to your presence here. Except well they also have to adjust to having him back around now as well," Eric continued, walking straight through the great hall and opening the door to the outside.

"I saw the garden from the library but..."

"I know, it's one of my favorite places here," Eric said as he turned to look at you. And you noticed his smile turned into a grimace. At you specifically.

It was gone in a second though as he continued walking further into the gardens.

"Did I do something wrong?" You asked as you tried to get eye contact with him as he avoided your gaze.

"It's nothing. But now I can see why he took a liking to you. I thought I had timed my feeding properly but..." he trailed off as he looked at you and you were surprised at what you saw. You thought that his brown eyes would peer into yours. But no, not at all.

Instead what replaced them was redness. You half expected that you would see pure blackness like you had from Paul before.

"I'm sorry, I can get Maria to show you the rest of the grounds. I apologize," Eric said as he was next to one second and gone the next.

And Maria was standing next to you the next second. Wearing not the usual maid's uniform that she had previously worn around you.

Instead, she was wearing a dress similar to yours. But less adorned to jewels, unlike yours. That was so covered with jewels that it felt like they weighed you down.

"Hello, Lady Y/n, I was told to join you out in the gardens to finish up your tour of the grounds," Maria said as she started walking ahead of you.

"Yes he said that he didn't time his feedings properly..."

"Yes, it's a lot to get used to, having a human around here. But in time he will get used to it. Even though I'm sure someone else is heaping the benefits," Maria said, making your thoughts go immediately to the previous night.

"Yes well I suppose..."

"No, I'm sorry my lady I spoke out of turn and I shouldn't have," Maria said, avoiding eye contact with you as she continued walking the rocky path.

"No, it's fine. You can speak your mind with me," you said, grabbing her hand to turn her in your direction and smiling at her.

"Good, I feel as though I can talk to you more than anyone else here. Which is to say something because we've all been searching and waiting for him to come back all these years. And now he's returned and with you. It's more than we could've hoped for!" Maria said as she wrapped you in a tight hug that took you by surprise.

"I would hope so," A deep voice said from behind you as you pulled away from Maria's hold. She bowed quickly.

"Majesty, I was walking the Lady Y/n, through the gardens,"

"I can see that. I'll take up in your stead. You can go back to attending to your duties Maria," Paul said as Maria bowed to him once again and then bowed to you before leaving.

"Shall we?" Paul said hold out his arm for you to take as you smiled at him.

"I would love to. Done for the day?" You asked, trying to make conversation. While also getting to know more about what he does.

"Yes, it would seem that way. Plus, I wanted to see what you were up to," Paul said as he turned to pluck a rose and put it in your hair as you continued walking alongside him. And told him about your visit to the library and the books you wanted to read. Suddenly feeling happier with being around him.
