"You know he wanted to dress me in a navy suit with a red or purple tie," Paul said as he was straightening the collar of his suit in the mirror.

"well technically, aren't red and purple the colors of royalty?" you questioned with a smile on your face as you saw Paul roll his eyes in the mirror. You knew your little time reading books about royalty would come in hand eventually, even if it came in the form of an informational jab.

"I don't think that's the kind of royal color he was thinking of. Let's just say hypothetically he dresses me for all this and to get back at me he dresses me horribly," Paul muttered as you looked at him through the reflection of the mirror.

"you think James is going to do that? As if you had a choice in what happened to you at all,"

James walked over to Paul and began to adjust the suit for him.

"Yes, if I was going to get back at you, your majesty, you would know it,"he said as he took one of the pins that had been in his mouth and went to pin the suit that Paul was wearing, as Paul jumped and looked at James skeptically. Which made you laugh quietly watching the exchange.

"Just because I said you would know if I was getting back at you, didn't mean I would try and stick you with a needle, it wouldn't be that simple," he said as he shook his head.

"You have such a good build, it's a shame to hide it behind all this black that you like to wear so much," he said with a disapproving cluck of his tongue.

Paul laughed. "I think I'll stick with my usual attire for now. But you can make me something special for me to wear for the special day. I'll have to mix it up then since I'll have to try and look somewhat like a presentable groom standing next to my wife who I know you'll make a knockout gown with. Especially with the model version that I already got a glimpse of earlier,"

"Well lucky for you, I'll make it even better. I have a few tricks up my sleeves when it comes to that dress, and the other one I plan on making for the coronation and reception,"

"three dresses?" you questioned, since it hadn't come to mind that you would be changing so much.

James spun around with a smile on his face at you.

"well of course, three different events requires three different outfits. And this'll be my debut back into court, going to have to come out with a bang," he said with a wink as he spun back around.

James continued to take measurements and note down ideas that came to him for both your outfits, since suddenly the idea of multiple suits for Paul would have to do as well since they needed to match your gowns that you would be wearing. You couldn't help but feel grateful about his presence. He seemed just as excited about the idea of this wedding and coronation just as Maria and Eric were. Which you knew extended to the rest of the court that populated the palace.

But it was clear that James had a passion for dressing others that seemed unmatched and that he wanted people to feel at their best while wearing his outfits that he created.

The fitting came to an end, James promised to have both your outfits read in time for the coronation procession and the wedding. And would bring them back as soon as they were finished to get the last fittings done.

Which you knew was more directed at you. Since now you were showing slightly. And both you and Paul weren't clear on the gestational period. You secretly hoped that it didn't jump into hyper-speed and you ended up going into labor during the coronation or celebration procession that would follow that prefaced the reception.

You thanked James and gave him a hug as Eric led him out of your private wing of the palace.

Turning to Paul, you couldn't help but smile. "i'm glad you're letting James dress you for the wedding," you said, teasing him playfully as he was attempting to change back into the clothes he had been wearing before James got him into those fabrics pieces to take his measurements.

"hey it's been a long time since i've been fitted. Might as well be with the person that used to do it eons ago. Surprised that he didn't have my measurements on file of something," he muttered as you leaned up and kissed him.

"What was that for?" he asked, as he looked down and you saw the telltale darkness overtaking his eyes as his pupils seemed to take over most of his dark brown eyes.

"that was for trying something out of your comfort zone. I know you like black. but you do look good in other colors too,"

Paul rolled his eyes at the comment but you could tell he was attempting to try and hide a smile on his face. "I'm all for trying new things, for you at least," he replied with a wink.

You laughed and leaned in for a kiss, feeling grateful for the man by your side who always kept you on your toes. With the newly appointed dresser on board with the situation, you knew that everything outfit-wise would be a hit on your special day.

The political implications on the other hand were a whole different story. You knew that taking up elements of the wedding, coronation and reception, while not mentioned by Paul, was helpful to him. Since he had to deal with a potential fight to break out at any point during one of those gatherings. since it had seemed since Paul had been gone none of the principalities, and their lords had arranged a meeting between them all to deal with the issues that had arisen during Paul's disappearance.

"you know if you need me to do anything else for the wedding or anything--" you started to say as Paul stopped you.

"you are doing more than enough y/n, for me the most important part of that day is going to be teh wedding, just standing up there with you. That's what I'm looking forward to most. Not the political garbage of the coronation of the reception afterwards. Hell we could actually get married before all that in secret, I was thinking about that. Just me and you and a witness and a priest,"

"mmmmm a priest isn't that kind of going against the whole prince of darkness and hell thing?"

"not necessarily since the priest went against the norm of his day and was burned at the stake for being married," Paul quipped back.

"Yeah, you know I'm never going to get used to those kinds of stories about how people ended up here," you said with a slightly shaky voice at the imagery that came to mind with the priest.

"I was thinking about it. Like bring Eric and Maria along as witnesses?"Paul said in passing as you got up and started walking out of your room with a smile on your face.

You opened the door just as Eric was about to knock on the door.

"oh, sorry--" you said as Eric shook his head.

"no, you're fine. What's up? what do you need?" he asked.

"Has James left yet? Paul had an idea and I think we are going to be needing some last minute outfits," you said as Eric nodded and he was in front of you one second and was a blur the next as a giddy feeling started taking over you at the idea of eloping for your wedding instead of making it fit into a schedule of what paul liked to say was political garbage of a day that was for the public and dignitaries of the land instead of something that was just for you and Paul. And you agreed with him, you both needed something to just be about the two of you.
