You woke up later, feeling the plush mattress under you and soft blankets over you. You turned your head and saw Paul get up from where he had been sitting next to the bed as he put his knee on the bed as he leaned over you with a cold cloth in hand to run it over your forehead.
"What happened? The last thing I remember we were in your office and I was talking to you about why the coronation was postponed,"
"Yes and I dared to mention the marriage had to come first and you fainted. Luckily I caught you. I thought it was probably because you were dehydrated or something but I called her just in case," he said, nodding his head to the figure.
"Well, it is concerning. The last time you fainted and now this. Considering your condition," the shrouded woman said as she removed her hood revealing her face. It threw you off because her voice sounded so much younger than she appeared.
"Well, did you tell her I had been training earlier? Being dehydrated could be a reason?" you questioned as you turned towards Paul your eyebrows raised. You knew people would throw around the fact that you were pregnant for a lot of reasons behind things at the moment. And you hated it when people did that.
"Yes well–"
"You need blood. Due to the....genetics of the fetus. Lack of blood would be a reasoning behind the fainting spells, as well as–"
"If you say that it is also because I'm pregnant I'll have you know I kicked his second in command's ass today on my first day in training. And no I won't be stopping it because I'm pregnant. Many women on earth continue their lives as normal exercising everyday. So I'll be continuing my training with Eric," you say, as you saw the healer's facial expression sour at your response. While you saw Paul shake his head and smirk.
"I told you she wasn't just going to take what you told her. And I agree she should continue with the training. We'll take into account the blood. Although we've been feeding each other since we came here already," he said as you felt the blood rush to your face at the mention of feedings for some reason it felt like he just disclosed something very personal to this woman.
"It also would help to not be blindsided by information that I should've been informed of. Nothing like having to hold a straight when Eric mentioned the postponement of the coronation. As well as you talking about the wedding," you say as you turn your attention back to Paul as you hear a poor attempt at a cough coming from the healer as she tried to cover her mouth with her hand. To try and hide her laughing at the exchange between the two of you.
Paul turned and looked at the woman, as you noticed his eyes go from their brown color you had been so used to seeing to a mix of red coming into them that made the healer silence herself.
"Your presence is no longer needed here. If we do we will call for you. I'll keep in mind your mentioning about the blood," he said in a way of dismissing the healer as she bowed to the both of you before leaving the room.
"See even the healer thinks me not thinking a marriage would happen is funny–"
"No she doesn't,"
"Yes, yes she does. I know royal protocols dictate marriage before coronation; it slipped my mind. And I don't know why. Maybe it was because of all this talk about the coronation. So excuse me if I forgot," you said as you tried to catch your breath as you felt your head start to hurt.
"Here, drink this and take a couple breaths. I don't want you passing out again," Paul said as he passed a water cup to you as you gulped some of it down.
"Why is it that all those meetings with your counsel people have been just about the coronation and not the wedding? You would think it holds the same importance,"
"It does. To me. But to them the coronation does. Other important people would be attending the coronation. Wedding is to be smaller, just us and a couple of witnesses," he said as you narrowed your eyes on him.
"Why would the wedding be more important to you but it's to be smaller than the coronation. That doesn't make sense,"
"Because I would rather it be something smaller, just us. More intimate, I thought you would like it like that. Rather than the godly thing the officials want to pull off for the coronation"
"So what? Something simple for the wedding then?"
"Never said that. I got into contact with the fabric salesman that used to come here all the time that you ran into on your little exploration with Eric and Maria the other day. He is gathering up more people to make a visit soon. So you can pick out fabrics for the wedding. Something for your dress and other things," Paul said as he relaxed next to you on the bed.
"Oh really? Let me guess virginal white dress," you said with an edge to your voice about that particular bridal tradition.
"No, never thought that. Didn't come to mind. And that's an earthly tradition. White being virginal never really made sense to me. You wear whatever color you want on the day of our wedding. You're the star of the show anyway," he said with a fondness in his voice that made your heart almost skip a beat as you kissed the side of his face.
'Good I'm glad because white is just not it. And you never know there could be more that could be done with this place. Made refurnish the entire palace in something a bit different since it's been so long" you said as he nodded..
"Whatever you want is fine. This place does need an update," he said as he turned to look at you as you sipped at the water.
"I'm drinking the water, it's helping. Guess I'll have to mention to Eric to bring water along for me to drink since I can't go completely exhausting myself without refueling my body. Which come to mention I am kind of hungry,"
"I can go to the kitchen and have the chef make you something," Paul said as he sprang up from the bed faster than your human eyes could catch. You leaned over in the bed and grabbed at his arm to stop him.
"I was thinking about taking that healer's advice actually with the feedings. And you never know that could help me in my training with Eric," you said as you pulled him down back on the bed.
"So you aren't hungry for food then?" he asked as you nodded your head.
"Yeah, but I think I can wait it out a bit. I was wondering though with the wedding coming up if you would help? That is if you want to be involved of course. Because it did sound like you wanted to be involved,"
"I would love to. But I have a feeling there is something else coming,"
"Well, I would want to be involved in the coronation talks, if that's possible?" you asked.
"Trust me I'm just there as the figurehead as the king. At this point they know the territories and things more than I do since I've been gone for so long. But remember you will definitely be involved after the coronation," he said as he wrapped his arm around your shoulders.
"Well the way you put it. I wouldn't mind holding off on being involved. Especially since these training sessions are going to take a bit out of me everyday. Eric said tomorrow would be horseback riding. I'm kind of excited for it," you said as you smiled and shifted your weight moving onto his lap and looking down on him.
"And I was thinking about doing some more practice again, what do you say?' you asked as Paul smirked up at you.
