Taking the two hours per second calculation of time in the Channel of Ancient Reality, I ended up staying half a day in that world, wherefore passing only six seconds in the actual world! What was six seconds? Lowest, the time it takes to blink a second time. If anyone had this ability of Time, wouldn't they be indomitable?
Recently, my problem was that I'd been terribly short of time. However, with an ability such as this, wasn't this enough time to rest my soul? At least, I could revitalised my spirit in just a second in the human world, which means 50% of my exhausted energy could be restored at that short amount of time, if I'm with a book beside me! If anyone heard about this ability, they'd definitely take me out for experimenting as some lab rat, without doubts.
All twelve hours were spent learning some complex movement techniques. Although I was far from reaching perfection in it, it was still better than me six seconds ago... hahaha!
This movement technique was made up of careful and meticulous nimble trajectory leaps, and was extremely fast. It was a combination of several movement techniques all merged together from Teacher Kira's experiences. She'd given me the opportunity to name the technique, and after some thought about it, I'd fallen to the United Heavens Movement Technique.
Yes, you thought rightly... the name was from Old Ancestor's United Heavens Cultivation Method. Besides, since it was a combination of movement techniques, shouldn't “United Heavens” be best fitting as a name?
The eyes of my physical body finally opened. I came down from my bed and walked outside. I was heading straight to one of the places I'd always wanted to visit but simply didn't have the time for, all along.
It was none other than one of the training grounds in the Junior Academy of the Gifted. Being a martial arts school, it'd be funny if there wasn't a single training ground available. The first one I walked into was the one in the south. However, it was actually filled with practicing students and their classroom teachers. Same situation was what I experienced in the west training ground and even in the east. Finally, I was left with no option but the north.
Entering the region, who'd actually have thought this place was empty? I sincerely did not have the slightest hope of meeting an empty training ground. Sighing, I pulled off the winter jacket I'd purchased earlier, stowed it off in my storage ring. As it was evening, most people were already done with practice and lessons, hence... maybe it wasn't too surprising.
I walked into the segment hall that read, FIST PRACTICE.
There was an old man seated still. He turned his head towards me the moment I stepped inside. The hall had no closing above, so looking up, one could see the azure sky.
“Hello,” I said, warping my appearance, to keep my identity safe.
The person stood up with a straight face. Only then did I notice it wasn't a “he” but an “it”. It was a puppet with life essence driving it. It was just like the experience in my 1-star beast tamers examination where I'd met a puppet that told me I had to tame the new beast the hall had gotten, which was the untameable copper-fur wolf.
“Step forward,” it ordered. I did just so.
It kicked a formation flag, and protection barriers sealed the hall from possible sound waves that would be leaking from the training here.
“Your opponent is me.”
I looked at the old foggy's face and couldn't help but smile in amazement.
‘Since you're not a human, I wouldn't feel guilty dislocating your body parts, right?’ I thought, nodding resolutely with a wide smile.
We both walked on top of the fighting ground. Weapons weren't allowed here, since this was the place for fist practice.
My opponent and I stood apart each other on both sides of the stage which was 100 metres in diameter.* * *
Thud and Ali were walking side by side in sleeveless tops and shorts.
“What score do you think you'll accomplish today?” Ali asked Thud who was wrapping a white cloth around his fist.
“I feel I'm getting to understand Iron Fist's techniques, this time I'll beat that smelling puppet for real, and should be able to get a C grade rating.” Thud kept walking nonchalantly as he said those words.
“Hahaha, you amaze me, friend. You've already been knocked out by Iron Fist severally, and yet you're saying the same thing you always say before the fight. You really are a masochist!”
“You! Who're you calling a masochist, you're the one who's a masochist alright! Anyways, what was your last rating? Have you been able to break out of advanced D rating?” Thud said.
Ali shook his head dejectedly.
“I really wish I could. I envy you, Thud. You've only arrived here like everybody else, yet you've already broken into the expert D rating in Fist Practice.”
“Haha, brother needs not to praise me much... wait, look, it seems the sound barrier has been activated in the Fist Practice, let's go and take a look at who's the miserable fella who's gone in for a beating! Hahaha!”
“Quick, let's go, it's starting!”
Both boys were Transcendent Mortal realm primary stage cultivators, so they were able to double their speed into the hall in no time. They took their seats in the audience auditorium, watching without making the slightest sound.
On the stage was a young and very cute girl that made both boys' lips fall apart involuntarily. Her skin was as smooth as jade, and in her eyes was a burning will to fight. She had flowing blue hair and big, irresistibly, beautiful large eyes, and rosy lips.
They then noticed that the girl had let out her cultivation aura.
“Me-medi-ta-ta-tion realm?!” both boys were startled shock. How did a girl manage to reach Meditation realm and she wasn't popular in the school? Just where did this one come from? They exchanged looks in disbelief.
“Ouch, why did you pinch me?” Ali squeaked under his breath.
“Umm... I just wanted to confirm I wasn't dreaming,” said Thud, still looking on with awe in his face.
“Well don't you have a body of your own?”
“Your body is close to mine... what's the difference? Shush, don't say anything more, they shouldn't notice our presence yet.”* * *
The moment I leased my cultivation level, I immediately sensed two boys from the spectating auditorium. However, with my earlier disguise, I didn't feel perturbed. Besides, my concentration right now was on how to disintegrate this snug-looking puppet to number zero.
In imitation of me, the puppet immediately adapted to the situation by dropping its cultivation strength to Meditation realm too, so that we could be even. I smiled in praise of the creator of this thing, it was really ingenious.
With my one week of fighting members of the Demon tribe, I'd actually lost my fear for battles... somewhat. Although this wasn't a virtual world, I didn't think any human in the same cultivation as myself could defeat me, how more an ordinary puppet?
The moment its cultivation was leashed, it began to sprint towards me with lightening speed. The side of my lip turned up. I'd seen this technique a lot. Low-level demons used it a lot. Old Sage Muyu said it was an elementary technique, so almost everyone in public schools knew it.
I clenched both my fists then awaited it to cross the 20-metre mark.
Crossed. Great.
I immediately started to run in an unusual manner, in such a way my next step was definitely not predictable. I was literally leaping and dancing around, but none of the puppet's blow could shift a rift off my shirt.* * *
“Huhn... Ali, doesn't that look like your Leaping Deer Movement Technique?”
“Actually, Thud, it looks more like your Swift Tiger Movement Technique!”
“Huhn... This is really strange. How come I've never met such a technique before? Wait... that looks like our classmate's, Qian's, Fist Untouchable Technique...”
“Yeah, yeah, or my old master's Flexible Rod...”
“That sick old man has something this cool, are you kidding me?”
“You! It's your direct teacher who's an old man!”
“Lolz... I'm not the one with an ‘old master’, am I?”
“Ugh! Just shut up and watch!”
“Look who's talking.”
“. . .”
