After I finished saying those words, I looked straight into the crowd at the horse that had been trailing after me. I'd communicated with this horse through Animal Connectivity telepathy. It had told me that it was named Romeo, and when I tried to praise it so I could hear its proudly boasts (which always works on Roy), I got to find out it was once a circus horse. I simply promised it that if it could perform perfectly well, its rider — hahahahahaha — would give him two dozens of apples!
I'd discovered all these during the time I'd first established communication with Queen.
The rider, on the other hand, was someone who I'd never met before, so that's why I'd introduced him as Sir Unknown.
Since the horse was a circus dancer, would it hurt for us to be entertained, even if just a little, by it?
‘You want to chase a student of JAG? You're dreaming, bro. You should rather pursue a career such as horse dancing, fool!’
The man had not understood what was happening yet. Seeing me point in his direction, he looking over his shoulder in anticipation to see what the show would be like... little did he know that he was the centre of attention at the moment.
His horse suddenly walked forward, majestically, with high shoulders and chin pointing towards the morning sky.
Noticing the position the horse was walking towards, the man realised the peculiarity, and furrowed his brows.
He was about to rebuke his horse when I quickly shouted, “Oh, the all proud Sir Unknown, we're happy to have you here. I know you must feel stressed to perform here!”
The man was surprised and shook his head, trying to explain himself, “You're mistaking—”
After saying those words, he didn't know he'd just played according to my script. I struggled hard to suppress my laughter.
People began to comment.
“Wow, he said that she was mistaking despite how tired he was from a supposed long journey? He must really pride in entertaining people before himself!”
“Oh, such a humble man! And he's quite handsome too!”
“Wow, I can't remember the last time I'd seen something spectacular at the community centre, today would be awesome!”
“Quick, go and call those useless sons of yours, woman! They're always talking about horses, the show's about to begin!”
“I won't argue with you today, I'll be right back!”
“...”
Completely pleased, I screamed, “Someone, play us a circus music!”
Some local drummers and guitarist who were begging for alms previously, quickly assembled and started playing in unison. The way they played, it seemed like this particular tune was the most used circus tune, since they didn't need to communicate with themselves.
I covered my mouth in joy. Why?
The moment Romeo heard the music, its blood began to boil in excitement. It immediately dashed into the centre of the place and stood on its hind, dancing carefreely! The befuddled rider held on to it with its might and tried to steady himself. It was then that I got a glimpse at his cultivation level... just an ordinary Transient Mortal realm primary stage cultivator.
Well... I may mistakenly turn him to paste, were I to beat him. It's better he suffers from public shame rather.
“Everybody hail out thus: Romeo, Romeo, Romeo!” I called out once more.
Everybody began to praise the horse in one accord. The drummers were beating fast. The guitarists were stringing hard. Some violinists from the other street had already joined to lesson the burden for the guitarists. At the same time, their plates were gradually filling with coins from one person to the other. They couldn't even suppress their joy!
I myself didn't see this coming. Firstly, the horse was really quite good. Secondly, I just did the community an unforgettable service!
‘So beggars could earn this quickly?’ Even I was feeling jealous.
“Woo-hoo! Go Romeo!”
“You're the best!”
“Come have children for my female horse!”
“What's that dance step called, Romeo?!”
“Woah, how did you jump that high?! Cool!”
“Dad, please get me a horse! I will teach it to dance so we'll like Sir Unknown's!”
“Yeah, yeah, all three of you boys would be getting some this week. I'll sell some things to make their purchases!”
“Yee-pee!”
“Ah, how did it do that move? It looked like snakebite!”
Words of admiration kept running wide and soon the whole place was four times as crowdy as before. The music was fast paced, the dance from Romeo was fast as well, the liveliness as more and more musicians trooped in caused the crowd to wag their waist in accordance.
“Woo-hoo, music makes me loose control!” I screamed to the horserider at the top of my voice. The person in particular was already dizzy to Romeo's movements. If not for the fact that he glued himself to the horse using true essence, this man would have long flown off its back. Not like he was glued, just that his hands were tightly gripping on to the horse's rope.
“It's all about Romeo baby!” I said at the top of my voice, smiling in awe.
Romeo wasn't a savage beast, so its intelligence was low. It was busy enjoying itself and the praises it was receiving, not knowing I was using it as a bait to teach its temporary rider a lesson.
I meticulously and stealthily controlled Queen into the busy crowd and immediately divert my attention back to my original mission. I needed to tame a savage beast, and I needed to do so as soon as possible.
The crowd was too exhilarated to notice me. Not even a single person noticed the departing silhouette of Queen, save for an innocent three-year-old whose tiny hand was in her father's gigantic grip, and who was giggling as she watched me bobbing up and down on the horse.* * *
Thirty minutes later...
An identical person to the man who had just been hailed as the great “Sir Unknown” who had no choice but to accept the title in pride, arrived.
He was wearing a hoodie, but as they were twins, their minds could connect when they were close by. “Sir Unknown” immediately felt his aura and sighed, before waving at the crowd and excusing himself and Romeo from their sight.
“What's the meaning of this, Bro? Manager said you wanted to go and have some fun with a dangerous Gifted, what is this I see you doing? Well... you're having fun alright! Being a circus boy! You shame all cultivators!”
The one spoken to was tongue-tied.
“If I told you I don't understand what had happened back there, would you believe me?”
Before anyone could say anything more, “Sir Unknown” felt nudged on his leg. He looked down and saw his rented horse staring coldly at it.
“You! Haven't you had enough fun? What's with those eyes?!”
The horse was angry with his response and neighed in anger. It used its hoof to draw the shape of an apple.
“So you're not only a circus horse, you can also sketch. Great. What's that? You need an apple? Okay, fine. I'm out of here. I'll get you some apples and you could return to wherever I got you from.”
